Extremadura awards 260 destinations for permanent labor staff from the stabilization process

The General Directorate of Public Service has made public the assignment of posts as permanent labor personnel to the individuals who passed the stabilization processes for the reduction of temporary employment in the public employment of the Administration of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The Resolution of September 15, 2026 is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura no. 181, of September 18, 2026, in section II (Authorities and Personnel, Competitive Examinations and Contests), with the official reference 2026062363, and sets October 1, 2026, as the start date of the contracts.

The selection processes were announced through the Order of December 23, 2022 (DOE no. 247, of December 28), modified by the Order of December 17, 2024 (DOE no. 247, of December 23), both through the competitive examination-contest procedure and the exceptional merit-based contest system. Section 3 of the tenth base of those orders allows for the filling of vacancies that arise when a successful candidate does not formalize the contract due to resignation or other causes attributable to them, assigning the position to the next person in the order of total score, without the need for a new proposal from the Selection Tribunal or an independent resolution.

The Resolution of August 5, 2026, of the General Directorate of Public Service (DOE no. 153, of August 10), modified the list of applicants and regulated the destination assignment procedure. On that basis, individuals from different categories and specialties were called to a public act for the selection of posts on August 25 and 27, 2026, in which destinations were assigned by order of total score and provided that the objective requirements of each post collected in the job lists were met. In the categories and specialties not called to that act, the assignment was carried out directly.

Destinations of the competitive examination-contest

Annex I lists the eight destinations of the competitive examination-contest procedure, including:

• Soraya Lozano Guisado, ATS/DUE, in Villanueva de la Serena (Ministry of Health and Social Services).
• María Isabel Rodríguez Barroso, Nursing Assistant, in Mérida.
• Sonia María Prieto Muñoz, Part-time Cook, in Aliseda (Ministry of Education, Science and Vocational Training).
• Elena del Puerto Márquez, María Yolanda García Nevado, Rosa del Mar Parra Gallardo and Mario García Carrasco, Waiters-cleaners, in Jerez de los Caballeros, Plasencia, Villafranca de los Barros and Ribera del Fresno.
• Javier Vega Egea, General Specialized Laborer, in Herrera del Duque (Ministry of Forestry Management and Rural World).

The bulk of the positions, by merit-based contest

Annex II concentrates 252 destinations of the exceptional merit competition system, with the Department of Health and Social Services as the main destination. The categories with the most positions are:

• Nursing Assistant: 86 positions, with destinations in Mérida, Plasencia, Montijo, Cáceres, Villafranca de los Barros, Don Benito, Vegas de Coria, Herrera del Duque and Villanueva de la Serena.
• Waiter/Waitress-Cleaner: 117 positions, distributed among Plasencia, Villafranca de los Barros, Don Benito, Cáceres, Badajoz, Jaraíz de la Vera, Jerez de los Caballeros and Navalmoral de la Mata, among other locations.
• Cook and Part-time Cook: 15 positions in total.
• General Specialized Laborer and Part-time: 7 positions.
• First and Second Maintenance Technician: 8 positions.
• Other categories: Sandra Gordillo García (Higher Degree in Psychology, Mérida), Azahar Miranda López (Educator, Badajoz), María Paola de Felipe Calvarro and Lorena Avilés Martínez (Part-time Educators, Hoyos), María de la Soledad Vázquez Martínez (Degree in Economics, Mérida), María Isabel Guerrero Fernández (Physiotherapist, Plasencia), Cristina Sánchez Araya (Manager, Villafranca de los Barros), Antonia Martín Fernández (Occupational Monitor, Plasencia) and Arancha Quijadas Galán and María Luisa Rodríguez Hernández (Part-time Nursing Assistants, Cáceres).

Withdrawals and contract effects

Annex III nullifies, by withdrawal, the inclusion of eight people in the list of applicants:

• María García Carmona and María Regalado Martín (ATS-DUE).
• Valentina Barroso Molano, Antonia María Delgado Casasola and Sara Sequeda González (Nursing Assistant).
• Alicia Flores Manzano (Cook).
• Catalina Blanco Ruíz and María Isabel Herculano González (Waiter/Waitress-Cleaner).

The contracts will have a start date of October 1, 2026. If the applicant is in a situation of temporary disability, the effects of taking office are set from the date of discharge; and if the position is occupied by a temporary employee whose contract was entered into on the occasion of the early retirement at 64 of a permanent labor worker, the dates of termination and taking office are moved to the end of that temporary contract. Formalization corresponds to the head of the Department of Finance, Public Administration and Social Dialogue, with registration in the General Personnel Registry.

Appeal process

Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be filed before the Regional Ministry of Finance, Public Administration and Social Dialogue within one month from the day following its publication, or alternatively, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court within two months. The document is signed by Hugo Alfonso Curiel Rodríguez, Director General of Public Service, by delegation of the Regional Minister (Resolution of May 7, 2026, DOE no. 87, of May 8).

The publication closes the allocation of destinations for the stabilization process and grants permanent status to the selected candidates, with economic and administrative effects from October 1, 2026. For the candidates who placed in the immediately following positions on each list, the resignation of eight people opens the way for new allocations according to the order of scores.
