Employment calls for 10.2 million in grants for unemployed …

The Department of Employment, Trade and Emigration allocates 10,200,000 euros for grants and aid for unemployed workers participating in vocational training actions or on-the-job training between November 1, 2026, and October 31, 2027. The call is established in the Order of October 23, 2026, signed by the counselor José González Vázquez, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 207, of October 29, 2026, under procedure TR301V.

The regulation, which occupies pages 54168 and following of section III (Other provisions), regulates the direct granting of the subsidies and includes an extract published in the same issue of the bulletin, on page 54207, with identification number BDNS 937925 in the National Subsidy Database.

Regulatory framework and financing

The bases are supported by Law 30/2015, of September 9, on vocational training for employment, Royal Decree 694/2017, of July 3, and Order TMS/368/2019, of March 28, which sets the maximum grant amounts in its Annex II. Added to these are Law 3/2023, of February 28, on employment, Organic Law 3/2022, of March 31, and Order EFP/942/2022, of September 23, which regulates the training offer associated with the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications. Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia, provides the general principles of publicity, transparency, and competition.

The credit is distributed in two annual installments charged to application 14.03.323A.480.0:

560,000 euros in the 2026 installment (50,000 from project 2013 00545 and 510,000 from project 2021 00149).
9,640,000 euros in the 2027 installment (640,000 and 9,000,000, respectively).

If the budget is insufficient, the priority criterion will be the date of submission of the application and, in case of a tie, the time.

Four attendance grants and four aids linked to the course

The order distinguishes between attendance grants for specific groups and aid for participating in the training action. The daily amounts are as follows:

9 euros per day of assistance for people with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%, members of large families, and members of single-parent families, with a maximum of 9 euros per day even if they belong to several groups.
10 euros per day for victims of gender-based violence, cumulative with other aid.
1.5 euros per day for urban public transport and another 1.5 euros for interurban public transport, compatible with each other.
0.19 euros per kilometer and day for the use of a private vehicle, with a cap of 25 euros per day.
12 euros per day maximum for maintenance, when the schedule is morning and afternoon and the distance reaches 20 kilometers.
80 euros per calendar day maximum for accommodation and maintenance, starting from 100 kilometers or when daily travel is not possible, with economy class tickets.
75% of the daily IPREM per day of attendance as a reconciliation aid.

Allowances for disability, large families, and single-parent families are mutually exclusive, and public transport aid is incompatible with private vehicle aid. In general, the Administration requires a cumulative minimum of 100 euros per person to process the file. Electric scooters and bicycles are not considered private vehicles.

One month to apply and six months to resolve

The unemployed person must submit the application within one month from their incorporation into the training action or from the event that generates the right. Submission outside the deadline implies inadmissibility without further formalities, and errors or insufficient documentation will result in a request for correction within ten business days.

The standardized form is Annex I and should preferably be submitted electronically through the Xunta de Galicia headquarters, using Chave365 or an electronic certificate; submission in person at the designated registries is also possible. The maximum period to resolve and notify is six months from submission, after which the application is understood to be rejected by administrative silence. Once the resolution is notified, there are ten days to accept it.

Processing is the responsibility of the General Directorate of Training and Qualification for Employment, the New Technologies Center, or the territorial departments of the ministry, depending on the training action. Beneficiaries must keep the supporting documentation for four years.

Income requirements and exclusions

For assistance grants for disability, large families or single-parent families, and for reconciliation aid, the sum of the incomes of all members of the family or coexistence unit, divided by the number of people who compose it, must be lower than 75% of the IPREM. In the case of victims of gender violence, the income of the aggressor is excluded from the calculation. Incomes are calculated using the gross income of the month prior to the start of the course for employees and the net income of the previous quarter for the self-employed.

Training provided in integrated employment programs, in dual employment workshops, and that financed with European Union funds are excluded from the scope of the order. Persons falling under any of the circumstances of Article 10 of Law 9/2007 may not be beneficiaries, which is proven by means of a responsible declaration.

Impact for students

The call covers the costs that often deter unemployed people from enrolling in a course: travel, food, accommodation, and care for minors or dependents. With the entry into force on November 1, 2026, students who begin a training action in the following twelve months will have one month to claim grants that are cumulative, except in the cases of incompatibilities expressly provided for.
