The Governing Council corrects the remuneration of teaching staff under labor contracts.
Por FactBox Admin

The Governing Council of the Principality of Asturias has corrected the material errors in the agreement establishing for 2026 the remuneration of staff serving the regional Administration, so that the increase in the specific supplement equivalent to the professional career also applies to non-civil-servant teaching staff. The correction appears in the Agreement of 10 August 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 156, of 13 August 2026, with code 2026-06857.
The original text, approved by the Governing Council on 6 July 2026 and published in BOPA number 132, of 10 July 2026, used the expression “teaching civil-servant staff” in several passages. That wording unduly restricted the subjective scope laid down in article 18.2 of Law of the Principality of Asturias 5/2025, of 31 December, on the General Budgets for 2026, which recognises the right of senior officials with the status of public employee “as being civil-servant, labor or statutory staff” and refers, without any distinction whatsoever, to “teaching staff”.
Where the text is corrected
The changes affect three points of the remuneration agreement, in addition to a formal spelling error:
- In point a) of section 1) of the first agreement, where it said “teaching civil-servant staff” it must now say “teaching staff”.
- In point c) of the same section, the word “civil-servant” is likewise removed when referring to teaching staff.
- In the footnote to the table “Remuneration of Agency Directors and equivalent posts” in Annex I, the same correction is applied.
- In point a), the spelling “administración Pública de origen” is normalized to “Administración Pública de origen”, with an initial capital letter.
The legal basis
The rectification is based on article 109.2 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which allows administrations to correct at any time, on their own initiative or at the request of interested parties, the material, factual or arithmetical errors existing in their acts. The agreement was adopted at the proposal of the Minister for Presidency, Demographic Challenge, Equality and Tourism, Gimena Llamedo González, and was signed in Oviedo on 31 July 2026.
Who benefits
- Senior officials of the Administration of the Principality of Asturias who have the status of public employees, whether civil-servant, labor or statutory.
- In particular, non-civil-servant labor-contract teaching staff, until now improperly excluded from the increase in the specific supplement equivalent to the professional career supplement.
- The entire teaching staff, which retains the right to the performance incentive to which it may be entitled while in active service, under the conditions provided for in the agreement.
With this correction, the Government of the Principality of Asturias guarantees that the pay framework approved for 2026 applies to all teaching staff regardless of their employment relationship, and prevents a drafting error from leaving non-civil-servant teachers out of the allowance equivalent to professional career progression. Publication in BOPA number 156 provides publicity and legal certainty for the rectification for all those affected.
