The Cabildo de Tenerife announces nine vacancies for Social Branch Technician positions

The Insular Directorate of Human Resources, Public Service, and Digital Transformation of the Insular Council of Tenerife has approved, via Resolution No. R0000133788, dated August 24, 2026, the public call for the permanent filling of vacant job positions linked to the post of Higher Grade Technician in Planning and Management, Social Branch of the corporation’s Civil Service Staff. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, number 104, dated August 31, 2026, with reference 1780157.

The call is processed through the ordinary competition and specific competition procedures, in accordance with the Job Position List of the insular corporation. The full rules will be published in the BOP and an extract in the Official State Gazette, after which they will be announced on the notice board of the Council’s electronic office (sede.tenerife.es). The process affects the career civil servants of the corporation, with voluntary participation for those with permanent assignment and mandatory participation for those with provisional assignment.

Offered positions and method of provision

A total of nine positions are offered, distributed among three types of posts, with different methods of provision and experience requirements:

  • Unit Head (specific competition): 2 positions, in the services of Equality, Gender Violence Prevention and Diversity, and Sustainability, Climate Change and Environmental Education. Requires 5 years of experience.
  • Section Head (ordinary competition): 1 position, in the Employment, Education and Youth Service. Requires 3 years of experience.
  • Special Administration Technician (ordinary competition): 6 positions, divided among the services of Equality (2), Social Action and Participation (1), Employment, Education and Youth (2), and Environmental Management (1). Requires 1 year of experience.

Unit Head positions have a destination supplement of 26 and a specific supplement of 65 points; Section Head positions, destination 24 and specific 60; and Special Administration Technician positions, destination 24 and specific 50. Additionally, personnel from the post of Higher Grade Technician in Planning and Management, Environmental Branch may apply voluntarily, only for positions with codes FC1512 and FC1617.

Requirements, deadlines, and scoring scale

Career civil servants of the Cabildo who meet the requirements on the closing date for the submission of applications may participate; these requirements must be maintained until the assumption of office. Those who have not completed two years since taking office in their last position, those with final suspensions, those disqualified by court sentence, and those on voluntary leave for personal interest or family grouping without the minimum period of two years are excluded.

Applications shall be submitted exclusively electronically through the Cabildo’s electronic office, within a period of fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOE. The assessment of merits will be carried out by the Assessment Commission, a permanent body created by the resolution of November 24, 2023, composed of nine members with a balanced composition of women and men.

Award and assumption of office

The minimum score for the award will be 1.5 points for Section Head, 1 point for Special Administration Technician, and 4 points for Unit Manager. The maximum period for issuing the resolution of the competition will be 15 months from the end of the application submission period. The assumption of office shall be three business days if it does not involve a change of residence, or one month if it does, and the awarded destinations shall be non-waivable, with a minimum stay of two years in the position.

The call opens an opportunity for promotion and internal mobility for the technical staff of the Social Branch of the Cabildo, at a time when the corporation is strengthening its services for equality, social action, employment, and sustainability.
