The Cabildo de Tenerife announces a competition for technicians in the Social Branch

The Insular Directorate of Human Resources, Public Service, and Digital Transformation of the Insular Council of Tenerife has approved, through Resolution No. R0000133788, dated August 24, 2026, the public call for the permanent filling of vacant job positions linked to the post of Higher Grade Technician in Planning and Management, Social Branch of the Civil Service Staff. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, number 104, dated August 31, 2026, with official reference 1780157.
The call is processed through ordinary competition and specific competition procedures, in accordance with the Job Position List of the Insular Corporation. The rules will also be published via an extract in the Official State Gazette, and the process announcements will be disseminated on the notice board of the Council’s electronic office (sede.tenerife.es).
Offered positions and requirements
Nine positions are offered, distributed among three types of posts, with different forms of provision and required experience:
- Unit Head (specific competition): 5 years of experience in technical functions.
- Section Head (ordinary competition): 3 years of experience.
- Special Administration Technician (ordinary competition): 1 year of experience.
The destinations are divided between the Service for Equality, Prevention of Gender Violence and Diversity, the Service for Social Action and Citizen Participation, the Service for Employment, Education and Youth, the Technical Service for Environmental Management, and the Service for Sustainability, Climate Change and Environmental Education. Positions with codes FC1512 and FC1617 also admit personnel from the Environmental Branch post.
Participation and deadlines
Participation is voluntary for career civil servants with permanent assignment, and mandatory for those with provisional assignment, who, in the event of not submitting an application, will be subject to the provisions of the Ninth Rule. Excluded, among others, are those who have not completed two years since taking office in their last destination, those with final suspensions, and those disqualified by a final judgment.
Applications shall be submitted exclusively electronically via the Council’s electronic office, within a period of fifteen (15) business days starting from the day following the publication of the extract in the Official State Gazette. The results will have another period of fifteen business days.
Evaluation and award
In the ordinary competition, the maximum score is 9 points, with a minimum of 1.5 points for Section Head and 1 point for Special Administration Technician. In the specific competition, the assessment is carried out in two mandatory phases, with a minimum of 4 points for the position of Unit Manager. Specific merits, personal grade, work developed, training courses, and seniority are scored, with points based on hours and destination supplement levels.
The resolution of the competition must be issued within a maximum period of 15 months from the end of the application period. The assumption of office shall be three business days if there is no change of residence, or one month if there is, and the successful candidates must remain in the position for a minimum of two years. An administrative appeal against the call may be filed before the Presidency of the Corporation within one month.
The call opens a stable channel for internal mobility for the civil servant personnel of the Cabildo, allowing for the consolidation of destinations in key areas of social action, equality, and the sustainability of the island, and reinforces the definitive coverage of technical positions in the Social Branch.
