Por FactBox Admin

The Tenerife Island Council has approved the public call for the definitive provision of vacant job positions linked to the post of General Administration Technician, Legal Branch, through the ordinary competition and specific competition procedures. The resolution, issued on 7 August 2026 by the Island Directorate of Human Resources, Public Service and Digital Transformation, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, number 96, of 12 August 2026, page 22710 (record 1693866).

The call covers the staffing list (RPT) of the Council and its autonomous bodies, the Tenerife Island Water Council and the Tenerife Island Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS), and involves career civil servants on the island assigned to the post of General Administration Technician, Legal Branch. According to the index of Annex I of the bases, 162 posts are offered, which will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the staffing list of the Island Corporation.

An offer of 162 posts

The offer is distributed among positions of different levels of responsibility and two forms of provision:

  • Specific competition: 22 positions of Head of Service, 46 of Unit Manager, 5 of Legal Defence and Municipal Legal Cooperation Technician, 3 of Department Head, and special positions such as the Legal Officer of the Legal Technical Support Office for CEAT or the Legal Advisory Technician in Administrative Procurement.
  • Ordinary competition: 53 positions of General Administration Technician, 19 of Section Head, and positions such as Senior Data Protection Technician, Technician of the Administrative Unit for Agreements and Administrative Affairs, or Human Resources Technician.

The remaining posts correspond to positions such as Head of the Procurement and Agreements Service, Head of the Administration Area, Innovation, Promotion and Transparency Technician, Comprehensive Municipal Assistance Technician, Team Leader or Head of the Administrative Management Section of Hydraulic Resources II, with characteristics detailed in Annex I of the bases.

Who can participate

Participation is voluntary for career civil servants of the Council with definitive assignment to the post of General Administration Technician, Legal Branch, and compulsory for those in provisional assignment. Civil servants from other posts — General Administration Technician, Economic Branch; Senior Planning and Management Technician, Social Branch; Economist; or Architect, Engineer or Graduate — may also compete, although only for certain positions, as may Section Heads of the autonomous bodies Island Water Council and IASS.

The bases establish specific administrative experience requirements depending on the post:

  • 6 years for Head of Service and Technician for Innovation, Promotion and Transparency.
  • 5 years for Unit Manager and positions in legal defense and cooperation.
  • 3 years for Section Head, Team Leader and Technician for Comprehensive Assistance to Municipalities.
  • 1 year for General Administration Technician and administrative management positions.

Deadlines and procedures

Applications will be submitted exclusively electronically at the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo (sede.tenerife.es), within 15 working days counted from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official State Gazette. The lists of admitted and excluded candidates, the agreements of the Assessment Commission and the proposed award will be published on the notice board of the electronic headquarters, and positions that become vacant later may be offered as subsequent placements, with a maximum of two such placements.

The assessment of merits in the ordinary competition will be carried out using a scale of up to 9 or 10 points, which weighs specific merits, personal grade, work performed, training and seniority. This will correspond to the Permanent Merit Assessment Commission of the Cabildo, created by resolution of 24 November 2023.

With this call, the Cabildo de Tenerife launches one of the largest internal mobility processes of the corporation: it establishes the RPT for the legal branch and affects hundreds of civil servants on the island, both from the Cabildo itself and from its autonomous bodies. For legal technicians, the competition defines their promotion and transfer possibilities for the coming years and will condition the distribution of staff in the legal services of the insular corporation.
