El Boalo announces a vacancy for a janitor position via competitive examination

The El Boalo City Council has announced a selection process to permanently fill one janitor position within its career civil service staff. The call is approved by Mayoral Resolution number 840/2026, dated July 31, and published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) number 197, dated August 19, 2026.
The position, assigned to the General Administration Scale, Subaltern Subscale, is offered via a competitive examination-merit system (concurso-oposición) in the ordinary open turn. It is included in the Public Employment Offer corresponding to the 2024 ordinary replacement rate, published in BOCM number 8, dated January 10, 2024.
Position Characteristics
The janitor position is categorized under the Professional Groups group (formerly Group E), with a destination supplement level of 14. The duties are carried out in educational centers and include the protection of minors and coordination with the management team.
- Opening and closing of access points and control of center doors.
- Supervision of underage students to prevent unauthorized exits.
- Attention and reception of parents, guardians, transporters, and inspectors.
- Support for teaching staff in the transport of materials and reprography.
- Management of common spaces for school events and meetings.
- Basic school maintenance and reporting of breakdowns to municipal services.
Requirements and Submission of Applications
Applicants must have Spanish nationality or that of a European Union member state, be at least sixteen years old, and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age. No specific qualification is required, in accordance with the Seventh Additional Provision of the TREBEP.
Applications must be submitted within twenty calendar days from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official State Gazette and in the BOCM, preferably electronically via the municipal Electronic Office. Those excluded will have ten business days to correct any defects.
Selection System and Scoring Scale
The process is structured into two phases, with a maximum score of 10 points: 60% for the examination phase (maximum 6 points) and 40% for the merit phase (maximum 4 points).
- Examination phase: a theoretical multiple-choice test of 30 questions and a theoretical-practical exercise, both eliminatory with a minimum of 1.50 points.
- Merit phase: scoring scale for professional experience (up to 2.50 points), training and professional development (up to 1.50 points), and success in previous processes.
- Job bank: a pool will be established with applicants who pass at least the first exercise, to cover vacancies and substitutions.
The selection body will be composed of a president, three members, and a secretary, with their respective alternates, and will be headquartered at the Town Hall (Plaza de la Constitución, 1). An appeal for reversal may be filed against the rules within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months.
The call for applications, signed by the mayor-president, Soledad Ávila Ribada, on August 3, 2026, represents an opportunity for stable public employment in a municipality of the Madrid mountains, with functions oriented toward the protection of minors and the proper functioning of local educational centers.
