The Minister of Education and Vocational Training of the Junta de Extremadura, Sandra Victoria Valencia Ramos, has awarded the “Good Practice in Digital Competence of Extremadura” seal to two educational projects and has excluded three other applications. The resolution, signed in Mérida on October 7, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) number 204, dated October 22, 2026, with the official reference 2026062613.
The framework: a 2021 order and the commission’s ruling
The award is based on the Order of October 21, 2021, which created the seal and established the procedure for obtaining it, published in the DOE no. 211, dated November 3, 2022. The text recalls that the Digital Competence Seal Commission of Extremadura met, as provided for in articles 11 and 12 of the regulation, and that the proposal originated from the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Inclusion.
The two recognized projects were submitted under the Educo modality, and the seal entails the recognition of innovation credits for the participating teachers, as detailed in Annex I. The resolution concludes the administrative process.
Annex I: the two recognized projects
- SCD2025301061 — “Achobot: AI within everyone’s reach”, Educo modality, submitted by Carlos Murillo Almodóvar: 89 points, category 1 and 5 innovation credits.
- SCD2025290288 — “Sharpmony Musical Educational Project at the Montijo Conservatory”, Educo modality, submitted by Juan Antonio Rodríguez García: 68 points, category 2 and 3 innovation credits.
The first file, linked to the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom, obtains category 1 and the highest allocation of credits, five in total. The second, focused on a musical project developed at the Montijo Conservatory, remains in category 2 with three credits.
Annex II: three applications excluded from the seal
- SCD2025288935 — “Marisol’s website”, Educo modality: insufficient score (4).
- SCD2025299795 — “Discover Las Hurdes”, Educo modality: insufficient score (22).
- SCD2025297779 — “A digital competence ecosystem”, Educo modality: insufficient score (6).
The three files are rejected for failing to reach the required score, the sole cause listed in Annex II of the resolution. None of them obtain the seal or innovation credits for their participants.
One month for reconsideration and two for litigation
Against the resolution, which is final in the administrative process, interested parties may optionally file a request for reconsideration before the Minister of Education and Vocational Training within one month from the day following its notification, according to articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.
A direct contentious-administrative appeal may also be filed before the High Court of Justice of Extremadura within two months from the day following its publication, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13.
The seal certifies teaching practices in digital competence, and its attainment translates into innovation credits computable for the participating teaching staff; thus, this resolution closes the procedure and determines which centers and teachers may add this recognition in the current academic year.
