Provincial Council of Ávila calls for urgent nursing pool for residence

The Most Excellent Provincial Council of Ávila has approved the call for the establishment of an extraordinary and urgent job bank in the category of Nurse, intended to guarantee the continuity of care at the Infantas Elena y Cristina Residential Center. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila no. 176, dated September 11, 2026, by means of Decree no. 2026-3261, dated August 26, 2026.

An exhausted job bank and an urgent need

The decision responds to the request made by the management of the residential center, which has seen its workload critically increased due to vacancies, sick leave, and other situational factors. The employment bank for this category, established following the selection process published in BOP no. 144, dated July 29, 2026, has been depleted as all available candidates were exhausted after the members refused to join the staff.

Given this situation, the Corporation declares the extinction and loss of validity of the previous bank and invokes the competence delegated to the Governing Board to approve the new bases, under Article 10 of Law 40/2015, of October 1. The resolution, signed on September 3, 2026, by the delegated deputy for Human Resources, Juan Carlos Sánchez Mesón, is based on Article 10 of the TREBEP (Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015) and Royal Decree 896/1991, which allow for agile selection procedures for interim civil servants.

An express selection process

The selection system will be a competitive examination consisting of a single, mandatory, and eliminatory multiple-choice test, with the following characteristics:

• 50 questions plus 5 reserve questions, with a maximum time of 60 minutes.
• Grading from 0 to 10 points, with a minimum of 5 points required to pass the test.
• Each correct answer adds 0.20 points; each error subtracts 0.05 points; unanswered questions are not penalized.
• Candidates will be ordered by descending score, with ties broken by an official letter draw.

Applicants must hold a Diploma or Degree in Nursing, have Spanish nationality or that of an EU member state, and prove registration with the corresponding Official College of Nursing prior to appointment. The position will be filled as Interim Civil Service Personnel, in the Special Administration Scale, Technical Subscale, Middle Class, Group A, Subgroup A2.

Deadlines, fee, and submission

Applications must be submitted strictly electronically through the Electronic Office of the Provincial Council, within a period of five business days starting from the day following the publication in the BOP. Each applicant may submit only one application.

• The right to take the exam requires the payment of a fee of 12.00 euros, via deposit into account ES42 2100 6305 0413 0112 8428.
• A copy of the DNI/NIE, the university degree, and the bank proof of payment must be attached to the application.
• Failure to pay the fee within the deadline constitutes an incurable defect and results in definitive exclusion.

The pool is strictly transitory in nature and will automatically end when the future General Regulation for the Operation of Pools of the Corporation comes into force or when an ordinary pool or one derived from waiting lists of selection processes is established.
