Cuenca expone el padrón del Impuesto de Actividades Económicas 2026

The Cuenca City Council has provisionally approved the collection register for the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE) for the 2026 fiscal year and has submitted it for public exhibition so that taxpayers may present objections. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca, number 104, dated September 9, 2026, in announcements NO. 2112 and NO. 2113, signed by the Councilor for the Treasury Area, Juan Manuel Martínez Melero.

The provisional approval was agreed upon via Decree No. 5974, dated September 3, 2026, and the register remains available to interested parties for a period of thirty days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement. If no claims are filed, the register will be considered definitively approved.

Consultation and Objections

The register can be consulted at the municipal offices located at Plaza de la Constitución, number 10 bajo, or via email at gestiontributos@cuenca.es, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. During this period, taxpayers may submit any objections or claims they deem appropriate.

Voluntary Payment Period

The voluntary collection of these taxes extends from September 15 to December 15, 2026, both inclusive, in accordance with the provisions of Article 24 of the General Collection Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29. Receipts for which payment has already been set up via direct debit will be charged to the account on September 22, 2026.

Taxpayers who do not have direct debit payment will be sent the collection documents by mail, which may be paid at any of the following collaborating entities:

  • CaixaBank
  • Unicaja Banco
  • Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria
  • Ibercaja
  • Globalcaja
  • Bankinter
  • Banco Santander
  • Banco Sabadell
  • Eurocaja Rural
  • Cajamar

Alternative Payment Channels

In addition to the collaborating entities, payment can be made by credit card at the Municipal Collection Office, located at Plaza de la Constitución, number 10, or through the City Council’s Virtual Tax Office on the website www.cuenca.es, via Bizum or credit card. Payment is also accepted through the service provided by Correos, resulting from the agreement between the City Council and the Spanish Society of Posts and Telegraphs. Payments made through means other than those listed will not have a liberating effect.

In the event of not receiving or losing the receipt, taxpayers should contact the Management, Collection, and Inspection Office of the City Council or the email gestiontributos@cuenca.es, where a duplicate will be provided. The non-receipt of the collection document does not exempt the taxpayer from the obligation to pay it on time.

Consequences of non-payment

Once the voluntary payment period has elapsed, debts will be demanded through the administrative enforcement procedure and will accrue executive period surcharges, late payment interest and, where applicable, any costs incurred, in accordance with Article 28 of Law 58/2003, of December 17, General Tax Law, and Article 24 of Royal Decree 939/2005.

The publication of the tax roll constitutes a direct notice to the thousands of businesses and freelancers in the capital, who have three months to regularize their tax situation and avoid surcharges. Public exposure also guarantees the right of taxpayers to review their data and file a claim before the tax roll is definitively approved.
