Cuenca opens application period to choose the destination of three school janitors

The Local Government Board of the Cuenca City Council has agreed to open the period for the submission of documentation and the selection of positions for the three candidates who have passed the selection process for the hiring of permanent labor personnel in the category of School Caretaker. The decision, adopted in an ordinary session held on September 1, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cuenca number 102, dated September 4, 2026 (reference NO. 2089).

The process is part of the execution of the Public Employment Offer for the 2023 fiscal year, approved by the same body via agreement on December 22, 2023. The selection rules, via open competition and a contest-examination system for three public school caretaker positions, were approved on October 17, 2025, and the Qualifying Board proposed the hiring of the candidates via agreement on August 6, 2026.

The three successful candidates

The agreement, adopted unanimously under Article 127 of Law 7/85, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, lists the successful candidates in order of score:

• Ignacio Eusebio Pozo García, with a final score of 113.50 points.
• Jesús Zra Anaya, with a final score of 111.20 points.
• Diego Madrid de la Fuente, with a final score of 101.25 points.

Deadline and required documentation

Candidates have 20 business days from the publication in the gazette to prove that they meet all the requirements demanded in the call. The required documentation includes:

• Certified photocopy of the DNI (ID) or document proving EU nationality or nationality from States included in international treaties ratified by Spain.
• Certified photocopy of the minimum required qualification.
• Sworn statement of not having been dismissed from the service of any Public Administration nor being disqualified from public functions.
• Negative certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders.
• Medical certificate stating that the candidate does not suffer from any illness or physical defect that prevents the performance of the duties.

Those who do not prove the requirements within the deadline, except in cases of force majeure, cannot be hired and their actions will be annulled.

The offered destinations

Once the documentation has been submitted, the interested parties may choose a position according to the order of the score obtained in the selection tests, via a request addressed to the Personnel Service. The offered vacancies are:

• Caretaker of the Hermanos Valdés school.
• Caretaker of the Santa Teresa school.
• Caretaker of the Fuente del Oro school.

The resolution, signed by the mayor-president Darío Fco. Dolz Fernández, represents the definitive unblocking of a job offer that directly affects the educational community of the capital, by filling three janitorial positions with permanent staff in three public centers in Cuenca.
