The Creixell City Council has approved the rules and the call to fill, through internal promotion and via a competitive examination system, one position of corporal of the Local Police within the civil servant staff. The agreement of the Local Government Board, adopted on September 9, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 15, 2026, with reference CVE 2026-08490.

The call, signed by Mayor Montserrat Muñoz Madueño, is addressed to the officers of the corps and opens a application period of 20 business days starting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The position, framed within the special administration group, special services subgroup, local police class, is endowed with an annual salary corresponding to group C1, including extraordinary payments, triennials, and other emoluments.

Requirements for applicants

To take part in the process, candidates must meet, among others, the following requirements:

  • Hold Spanish citizenship and be at least 18 years old, without exceeding the compulsory retirement age.
  • Accredit a minimum seniority of two years as a career civil servant in the category of officer of the Creixell Local Police.
  • Be in active service, special services, or service in other public administrations.
  • Possess a high school diploma, technical degree or equivalent or higher, and driving licenses of classes A2 and B.
  • Not have been convicted of any crime nor be disqualified from exercising public functions.

Examination fees are set at 30 euros, with a 50% reduction for internal promotion calls, in accordance with municipal tax ordinances.

Selection process

The total score of the process is 30 points, distributed into an examination phase (maximum 20 points) and a merit phase (maximum 10 points). The examination phase includes four mandatory and eliminatory exercises:

  • Catalan language knowledge exercise, graded as fit or unfit.
  • Theoretical exercise, with a minimum of 5 points and a maximum of 10, on a topic to be chosen between two from Annex I.
  • Practical test, with a minimum of 5 points and a maximum of 10, on a case study linked to the functions of the position.
  • Psychotechnical test, with aptitude and personality tests, graded as fit or unfit.

The merit phase evaluates professional experience, academic qualifications, training, teaching, Catalan language level, and rewards and distinctions. Merits are computed with reference to the closing date of the application period and only those obtained in the last five years are valued.

Selective course, internships and pool

Candidates who pass the previous phases must complete, on a mandatory and eliminatory basis, the training course for promotion at the Public Security Institute of Catalonia, and a three-month internship period in the municipality. Those who pass the process will be appointed as career civil servants of the Creixell City Council.

Persons who pass all the exercises and are not appointed as interns will constitute a replacement pool, in order of score, to cover temporary substitutions, contingencies, or subsequent corporal vacancies. The call will be made via telephone and email, with a response deadline of 24 hours.

The call represents a professional promotion opportunity for the officers of the Creixell Local Police, who can access a command position within the force without leaving the municipality. The process, regulated by the local police regulations of Catalonia, reinforces the internal career of the civil service personnel and guarantees the filling of the vacant position with candidates trained within the force itself.
