Covarrubias announces a competitive call for a temporary administrative position

The Covarrubias City Council has announced a selection process via a competition system to fill a temporary labor position in the category of administrative assistant. The call is approved by Mayoral Decree No. 2026-0166, of August 29, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos number 172, of September 10, 2026, with reference BOPBUR-2026-03743.
The deadline for submitting applications will be ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. The full terms and conditions are also available on the council’s electronic office and on the municipal notice board.
The position and its functions
The announced position is for an administrative assistant, under a labor regime, with a professional category equivalent to group C, subgroup C1, and full-time hours. The contract will have a duration of six months and remuneration will be adjusted according to the municipal budget.
The functions to be performed include public attention, the municipal entry and exit registry, the processing of files, and the management of municipal services:
- Accounting: registration of invoices, accounting entries, and payment orders.
- Tax and collection management: registrations, cancellations, censuses, and settlements.
- Management of the population register and exchange of files with the INE.
- Water, sanitation, waste collection, and cemetery services.
- Collaboration in executive collection, cadastral management, and the municipal archive.
Requirements and selection system
To participate, it is necessary to have Spanish nationality, the functional capacity for the position, and to hold a Bachillerato degree, second-degree Vocational Training, or equivalent. Selection will be carried out exclusively by competition, valuing the merits claimed in the application, with a maximum score of 100 points:
- Professional experience: up to 50 points.
- Training: up to 40 points.
- Other merits (proficiency in electronic administration platforms): up to 10 points.
To pass the process, it will be necessary to obtain at least 30 points. In the event of a tie, priority will be given to the highest score in experience, then in training, and finally, the alphabetical order of the first surname.
Submission and job bank
Applications shall be addressed to the mayor-president and submitted through the city council’s electronic registry or at the locations provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015. Along with the application, a copy of the DNI, the required degree, certificates of services rendered, and documentation proving the merits must be provided.
For those who pass the process but are not hired, a job bank will be established for future calls due to sick leave or temporary vacancies, with a maximum validity of four years. The provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates will be published on the municipal electronic office, with a period of five business days for corrections.
The call, which exhausts the administrative route, may be challenged by means of an appeal for reversal before the Mayor’s Office within one month. The announcement appears signed by the mayor, Raúl Gredilla González, in Covarrubias on August 28, 2026.
