National awards announced for the Consumópolis 2026-2027 school competition

The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and 2030 Agenda has announced, through early processing, the national awards for the Consumópolis school competition for the 2026-2027 academic year. The call is published as an extract of the Order of August 14, 2026, in the Official State Gazette number 206, of August 22, 2026, section V-B, page 44735, with reference BOE-B-2026-27655.
The competition, which is conducted on a competitive basis, will distribute up to 33,000 euros annually charged to chapter IV of the budget of the Directorate General for Consumption, in addition to laptops or tablets for the winning teams. Team registration will be open between October 5, 2026, and March 1, 2027, both inclusive.
Participants and levels
Students enrolled in any public, subsidized, or private center within the national territory may participate, organized in teams of five participants coordinated by a teacher from the center. Three levels of participation are established:
- Level 1: fifth and sixth grades of Primary Education.
- Level 2: first and second years of Compulsory Secondary Education.
- Level 3: third and fourth years of Compulsory Secondary Education or Basic Vocational Training.
Awards and amount
The maximum amount that the Directorate General for Consumption will allocate annually to these awards will be 33,000 euros. This amount includes:

Laptops or tablets for each of the five participants and the coordinating teacher of the winning team from the three levels.

Expenses derived from the travel of the winning teams and their companions to the national awards ceremony.

A cash prize of 2,000 euros for the educational centers to which the winning teams belong.
Regulatory framework
The call is supported by the regulatory bases approved by Order CSM/1008/2021, of September 20, which regulates the participation and the granting of the awards for the Consumópolis school competition granted by the Ministry of Consumption, published in the Official State Gazette number 230, of September 25, 2021. The extract is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies Law, and its full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database with the identifier 925030.
The order bears the signature of the Minister of Social Rights, Consumption and 2030 Agenda, with delegated signature to the Director General for Consumption, Daniel Arribas González, by virtue of Order DCA/249/2024, of March 15.
Relevance
The early call for applications allows educational centers throughout Spain to plan in advance their participation in a contest that combines education in responsible consumption with teamwork and student creativity. With cash prizes, technological devices, and national recognition for the winning teams, Consumópolis establishes itself as one of the benchmark initiatives of the Ministry of Consumption to promote critical and sustainable consumption habits among new generations.
