Ciudad Real convoca ayudas de hasta 500 euros por persona celíaca

The City Council of Ciudad Real has announced grants of up to 500 euros per beneficiary per year to cover the additional cost of gluten-free products, with a total budget of 20,000 euros. The extract of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 209, dated October 29, 2026 (announcement number 3488, pages 10181 and 10182), with the reference BDNS (Identif.) 938282 and the secure verification code MzW1+Te+LyGoGLkWBcso.

Direct aid against the extra cost of a gluten-free diet

The call is based on articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The text signed by the Mayor-President, Francisco Cañizares Jiménez, justifies the measure based on the municipal commitment to health protection, equal opportunities, and attention to situations of special social vulnerability.

The objective is to compensate, through direct financial aid, the burden that the purchase of specific products imposes on people diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. The call corresponds to the 2026 fiscal year and is charged to the budget application 6231148001-Competitive grant for celiac people, from the budget of the Most Excellent City Council of Ciudad Real for that year.

The regulatory framework is completed by the bases for the execution of the general municipal budget for 2026 and the General Regulatory Ordinance of the Bases for the Granting of Subsidies by the City Council of Ciudad Real and its Autonomous Bodies, approved in the plenary session of July 29, 2026, and published in the BOP number 184, of September 24, 2026.

Requirements for applicant families

In addition to the requirements of article 13 of the General Subsidies Law, families who can prove the following may apply for the aid:

  • Being Spanish or a foreign national with legal residence in Spain.
  • Being registered (empadronado) and effectively residing in the municipality of Ciudad Real, with a minimum and uninterrupted seniority of one year immediately prior to the submission of the application, a requirement applicable to all members of the household.
  • Providing proof of a medical diagnosis of celiac disease or gluten intolerance through a report or certificate issued by a practitioner of the public health system or by a duly accredited specialist.
  • Not receiving aid, grants, or benefits with a similar purpose from other institutions or public bodies, unless the sum of all of them does not exceed the total cost of the eligible expenditure.
  • Being up to date with tax obligations to the AEAT, the TGSS, and the City Council of Ciudad Real.

Fifteen calendar days and two submission methods

The application period is 15 calendar days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP via the National Grants Database, in accordance with Article 20 of Law 38/2003. Applications and documentation shall be submitted:

  • Through the electronic office of the City Council of Ciudad Real (https://www.ciudadreal.es/subvenciones.html), using a digital certificate or electronic ID (DNIe).
  • At the in-person registry of the Department of Social Services, Seniors and Family, Pozo Concejo Street, 6, without prejudice to other forms provided for in Law 39/2015, of October 1.

All procedures related to the application will be notified electronically through the citizen’s folder. The full text of the call and its annexes can be consulted in the National Grant Publicity System, in accordance with the Resolution of 12/10/2015 of the State General Comptroller (BOE number 299, of 12/15/2015), via the link to call 938282 of the BDNS.

Impact for families registered in the capital

The call provides families with a diagnosis of celiac disease registered in Ciudad Real an annual compensation of up to 500 euros per beneficiary person, with a global ceiling of 20,000 euros that limits the number of grants awarded under a competitive process. The window is barely two weeks from the publication of the summary, making the accreditation of the diagnosis and the year of registration the key to not missing the deadline.
