Por FactBox Admin

Call for five permanent positions for elderly care assistants
The San Francisco Javier Residential Commonwealth of Fustiñana and Cabanillas has published its public employment offer for the year 2026, comprising a total of five positions for elderly care assistants intended to cover care needs for older people in the area. The resolution was adopted unanimously by the General Assembly on 31 July 2026 and was published in Official Gazette of Navarre number 162, of 18 August 2026, on page 29996 (official reference: L2610934).
The call responds to the final approval of the commonwealth’s organisational staffing plan for 2026 and to the staffing needs identified by the governing body of the intermunicipal entity that brings together the riverside municipalities of the Navarrese riverbank.
Details of the positions offered
The five positions announced have the following characteristics:
- 4 full-time elderly care assistant positions, all of them vacant and with the status of permanent staff.
- 1 part-time elderly care assistant position, likewise vacant and with a permanent staff contract.
The method of access for all positions is by competitive examination, which means that applicants must pass a selection process based on demonstrating the knowledge and skills required for the performance of the post. The alternative of merit-based competition combined with examination is not contemplated in this call.
Legal framework and regulatory background
The commonwealth bases this call on two key regulations that govern the reduction of temporary employment in the public sector:
- Law 20/2021, of 28 December, on urgent measures for the reduction of temporary employment in the public sector, which sets out the deadlines and conditions for the stabilisation of temporary staff in public administrations.
- Regional Law 7/2025, of 4 June, approving extraordinary and urgent measures regarding personnel for the reduction of temporary employment in the public administrations of Navarre, which adapts the state provisions to the regional scope.
Both regulations require entities in the Navarrese public sector to announce vacant permanent positions included in their organisational staffing plans, guaranteeing free and equal access for citizens to public employment.
Signature and official publication
The resolution was signed in Fustiñana on 6 August 2026 by Estíbaliz Laraña Pérez, president of the San Francisco Javier Residential Commonwealth, and orders the publication of the offer in the BON for the appropriate purposes. The full document is available in issue number 162 of the official gazette, corresponding to Tuesday 18 August 2026, in the Local Administration of Navarre section, subsection on Competitive Examinations and Competitions — Public Employment Offer.
Impact for the inhabitants of the Navarrese riverbank
The call reflects the growing demand for elderly care services in Navarrese rural municipalities such as Fustiñana and Cabanillas, where population aging increases the need for qualified professionals in geriatric care. The stabilization of these positions as permanent posts represents an improvement both for future hires, who will gain access to roles with full employment stability, and for the quality of the residential service that the commonwealth provides to its residents.
