Cantabria reparte 349.999 euros entre 326 entidades locales menores

The Government of Cantabria has granted 349,999.76 euros in subsidies for current expenses to 326 smaller local entities, according to the resolution published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (BOC no. 200, of October 19, 2026). The Ministry of Presidency, Justice, Security, and Administrative Simplification definitively denies aid to Bárago for not being affiliated with the ASUBIO transparency portal and accepts the appeal from Oreña, which is included in the distribution. The document, with reference CVE-2026-8076, is dated October 13, 2026.

The resolution, signed in Santander by Minister María Isabel Urrutia de Los Mozos, closes the file opened with Order PRE/41/2026, of April 21 (BOC no. 78, of April 24, 2026), which called for aid to finance current expenses of smaller local entities under a competitive bidding process. The regulatory bases are Order PRE/93/2025, of September 24, and the assessment was carried out in accordance with its Article 5 and Article 6 of the call.

The expenditure is charged to budget application 2026.02.12.496M.463 and the proposal originated from the General Directorate of Local Administration, Foreign Action, and Houses of Cantabria, with reports from the Delegated Comptroller and the Assessment Committee dated September 8, 2026. The text occupies section 6, Subsidies and Aid, from pages 52917 to 52926 of the gazette.

Bárago excluded for not joining ASUBIO

The Ministry definitively denies the application of Bárago (CIF P3900067D) because it does not comply with the formal obligation of Article 3.2.c) of the call: to be affiliated with the ASUBIO transparency portal prior to May 18, 2026, the deadline for the submission of applications.

The entity had already been excluded in the provisional resolution proposal of July 24, 2026, and did not file any appeals against it, as recorded in the Assessment Committee report of September 8, 2026.

Oreña included after appeal is accepted

Conversely, the resolution accepts the appeals of Oreña (CIF P3900330F) and includes the neighborhood council in the final resolution proposal, having proven to be up to date with payments to the Administration of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.

Oreña had requested 4,000 euros, obtained 25 assessment points, and will receive 2,062.10 euros.

326 neighborhood councils and a ceiling of 2,062.10 euros

The distribution reaches 326 smaller local entities, with 4,330 accumulated assessment points. Individual amounts range between 412.42 euros at the lower end and a maximum of 2,062.10 euros, and several councils receive exactly what they requested when their application was below the limit.

  • Nestares, Ontón, Otañes, and Sámano: requested 60,000, 51,550, 60,000, and 60,000 euros respectively, and receive 2,062.10 euros each.
  • Oriñón: requested 52,405.03 euros and receives 1,649.68 euros.
  • Entrambasaguas-La Lomba: requested 32,702 euros and obtains 824.84 euros.
  • Pie de Concha: requested 31,160 euros and receives 824.84 euros.
  • Cerdigo: requested 28,776.37 euros and receives 1,649.68 euros.
  • Renedo de Pielagos: requested 27,480.80 euros and receives 2,062.10 euros.
  • Islares: requested 60,000 euros and obtains 1,649.68 euros.
  • Pedreña, Iruz, Valles, and Villacarriedo: requested 2,000 euros and receive that same amount.

Single payment and means of appeal

The payment will be made in a single installment, through a 100% advance of the grant and without requiring a guarantee or bond, in accordance with article 21.3 of the Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Subsidies of Cantabria.

An optional appeal for reversal may be filed against the resolution before the counselor within one month from the day following its publication, or it may be challenged directly before the contentious-administrative jurisdictional body within two months, according to Law 29/1998, of July 13.

The decision fully affects the budgets of the neighborhood councils, which depend on these contributions to cover current expenses, and makes membership in ASUBIO a de facto requirement to access the line: any entity that does not formalize this procedure before the closing of the call is excluded from the distribution regardless of its score.
