The Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade of the Government of Cantabria has approved the 2026 call for grants aimed at financing professional activity support units for special employment centers, within the framework of personal and social adjustment services. The measure, endowed with 300,000 euros, is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 171, dated September 4, 2026, via Order IND/41/2026, dated August 31, and its extract (references CVE-2026-6957 and CVE-2026-6960).
Aid for protected labor insertion
The call is part of Axis 4, “Equal opportunities in access to employment,” of the Annual Plan for the Promotion of Decent Employment, and is aimed at groups with greater difficulty in accessing or remaining in employment, with special attention to people with disabilities. The regulatory bases were approved by Order IND/35/2024, dated July 10, published in BOC number 147 on July 31, 2024.
Funding is provided from budget application 13.00.241M.482.23 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community for 2026, approved by Law 4/2026, dated April 28. The grants may be co-financed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy through the State Public Employment Service, and are considered compatible with the internal market in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 651/2014.
Beneficiaries and recipients
Beneficiaries may be entities that hold special employment centers registered in the Registry of Special Employment Centers of Cantabria, which carry out their activity in the community and comply with the requirements of the grant regulations. The final recipients are workers with disabilities facing the greatest insertion difficulties:
- People with cerebral palsy, mental health disorders, intellectual disabilities, or autism spectrum disorder, with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.
- People with physical or sensory disabilities with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65%.
The grants cover labor and Social Security costs derived from the indefinite hiring of support unit personnel, and include functions such as the detection of support needs, training for job adaptation, individualized support, and accompaniment in the incorporation into labor enclaves or the ordinary labor market. The eligible actions cover the period from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026.
Deadline and submission
The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen business days, starting from the day following the publication of the call summary in the Official Gazette of Cantabria. The call is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 923475, and the full text can be consulted on the State grants portal.
The order, signed in Santander on August 31, 2026, by Councilor Eduardo Arasti Barca, reinforces the community’s commitment to the labor inclusion of people with disabilities, guaranteeing stable resources so that special employment centers can maintain their support teams and promote autonomy and job stability for those who face the greatest difficulties in accessing the labor market.
