Por FactBox Admin

The Government of Cantabria, through the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport, has announced grants for a maximum amount of 560,000 euros for investments made by tourism companies in the community. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria no. 200, dated October 19, 2026, with the official reference CVE-2026-8005 and identification number BDNS 934017. The aid covers 35% of the eligible cost and requires a minimum investment of 3,000 euros per applicant and establishment.
The call is based on Order CTD/3/2026, of September 18, which establishes the regulatory bases for subsidizing investments by tourism companies in Cantabria, published in the BOC no. 185, dated September 25, 2026. The summary is disseminated in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and its full text can be consulted in the National Database of Subsidies. The document was signed in Santander on October 5, 2026, by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport, Luis V. Martínez Abad.
Requirements: tourism registration, tax registration, and one application per establishment
Tourism companies that, as of the start date of the application period, meet the following conditions may be beneficiaries:
- That the registration of the establishment subject to the investment in the General Registry of Tourism Companies of Cantabria is final and in the name of the applying company.
- In the case of travel agencies, professional congress organizations, reservation centers, and active tourism companies, it is sufficient that the company’s registration in said registry is final.
- To be registered in the corresponding Social Security scheme and the Tax on Economic Activities.
- For grants exceeding 30,000 euros, to prove compliance with the payment deadlines of Law 3/2004, of December 29, on the fight against late payments.
Applications are submitted one per establishment, using the official form provided by the Tourism Activities Service of the General Directorate of Tourism and Hospitality, available on the institutional page of the Government of Cantabria —under the section “Citizen Services 012”, “Aid and Grants”— and in the “Professional Web” section of www.turismodecantabria.com.
Minimum investment of 3,000 euros and bank payments
Expenses that clearly correspond to the nature of the activity and meet these requirements will be eligible for subsidies:
- Eligible amount equal to or greater than 3,000 euros, excluding VAT, per applicant and establishment.
- Investment carried out and paid within a maximum period of two calendar years prior to the end of the application submission period.
- Payments made through financial institutions, with no cash payments permitted; the payment date shall be the value date of the bank debit or charge.
- Cost of eligible expenses not exceeding the market value.
From 35% base to 65% maximum per establishment
The grants will be paid from budget allocation 08.08.432.A.771 of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria for 2026. The grant amount will be 35% of the eligible cost, subject to the following limits:
- Maximum intensity of 65% of the subsidized investment.
- Maximum of 100,000 euros per beneficiary and establishment.
- Maximum of 200,000 euros per beneficiary for the total of their establishments.
In companies with more than one employee, the aid is increased by an additional 10% for each of the following requirements, proven as of the date of application: that an employee holds the diploma in Digital Competence Training in Tourism —150 hours, within the framework of Component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan— or any of the professional certificates HOTR0108 (Basic Kitchen Operations, level 1), HOTR0408 (Kitchen, level 2), HOTR0109 (Basic Pastry Operations, level 1), or HOTR0509 (Confectionery, level 2). In the case of self-employed individuals without employees, the additional increase is 15%.
Fifteen business days deadline
The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary, that is, from October 20, 2026, with the closing scheduled for November 9, 2026. The call comes as the Cantabrian tourism sector faces the modernization of its facilities and the digitalization of its services: the 3,000 euro threshold and the requirement for prior bank payment exclude small renovations, but allow the business fabric —hotels, hospitality, travel agencies, and active tourism— to recover part of the investment effort already executed in the last two years.
