Canary Islands consolidates nine permanent positions in Nuclear and Occupational Medicine

The Canarian Health Service (SCS) has published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) no. 171, of August 26, 2026, two resolutions dated August 14 appointing permanent statutory staff in the categories of FEA-Nuclear Medicine and FEA-Occupational Medicine. Signed by the director of the SCS, Adasat Goya González, these consolidate nine vacant basic positions of the Health Group A/A1 following the exceptional selective process for the stabilization of temporary employment (competitive examination).

The appointments are part of the call approved by the Resolution of December 23, 2022, of the General Directorate of Human Resources of the SCS, published in the BOC no. 255, of December 29, 2022, in execution of the extraordinary public employment offers for stabilization provided for in Law 20/2021, of December 28. The process, which was open access, was carried out via competitive examination and culminated with the appointment proposal submitted by the General Directorate of Human Resources through resolutions no. 4228/2026 (Nuclear Medicine) and no. 4226/2026 (Occupational Medicine), both dated July 24, 2026.

Appointments in Nuclear Medicine

The Resolution of August 14, 2026 (reference 3068) appoints two candidates as permanent statutory staff in the category of FEA-Nuclear Medicine, assigned to the two reference hospitals in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife:

• Alicia Díaz Silván, FEA Nuclear Medicine position at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
• María López Acosta, FEA Nuclear Medicine position at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital.

Appointments in Occupational Medicine

The Resolution of August 14, 2026 (reference 3069) appoints seven candidates as permanent statutory staff in the category of FEA-Occupational Medicine, with assignments distributed among hospitals in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and the island health areas:

• Francisco Lorenzo Labrador Serván and Ana Virginia Díaz Bethencourt, at the Materno-Insular University Hospital.
• Dunja Kozo Abramovic and Adriana María Escobal Machado, at the Dr. Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
• Sandra Jorge Serafín, at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
• Eduardo Lara Hernández, in Specialized Care of Lanzarote.
• María Alarcón Romay, in Specialized Care of Fuerteventura.

Assumption of Office and Conditions

The appointed individuals will have a non-extendable period of 15 calendar days, counting from the day following the publication in the BOC, to take office before the Management Directorates of the corresponding centers. They must identify themselves with a DNI, NIE, or passport, and those who do not appear in the SIRHUS system or do not have Spanish nationality must provide documentary evidence of the required requirements.

Failure to take office within the deadline implies the loss of all rights derived from the process, unless a cause is alleged and justified. Those who are in a situation of temporary disability may defer their incorporation until medical discharge, and personnel who already hold a permanent position in another category may opt for a leave of absence for the provision of services in the public sector. Personnel incorporated through stabilization may not obtain a service commission outside the SCS for two years, except for causes of gender-based violence or terrorism.
