Campo de Criptana announces two Local Police vacancies via open competitive examination

The City Council of Campo de Criptana has announced selective tests to fill, via open competition, two positions in the Basic Scale, Police category, of the municipality’s Local Police Force. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 178, dated September 16, 2026, in the Local Administration section, via Announcement number 2939, in compliance with Mayoral Resolution no. 2026/1938, dated September 14, 2026.

The rules bear the signature of the mayor, Santiago Lázaro López, and are dated in Campo de Criptana on September 15, 2026. The positions are classified in subgroup C-1 as provided for in article 76 of Legislative Royal Decree 5/2015, of October 30, which approves the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee.

One of the positions remained vacant in March

The call is based on two successive public employment offers from the City Council:

• The 2025 Public Employment Offer, approved by the mayor via Resolution no. 2025/1698, dated September 15, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 179, dated September 17, 2025.
• The 2026 Public Employment Offer, approved via Resolution no. 2026/1902, dated September 7, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 173, dated September 9, 2026.

Of the three police positions announced in the previous selection process, one was declared vacant by Mayoral Resolution 2026/0397, dated March 6, 2026, and is therefore being opened for competition again. The regulatory framework is completed by Organic Law 2/1986, of March 13, on Security Forces and Corps; Law 8/2002, of May 23, on the Coordination of Local Police of Castilla-La Mancha, and its regulation, approved by Decree 110/2006, of October 17.

Requirements, fees, and application deadline

Applicants must meet, among other conditions, the following:

• Spanish nationality and an age between 18 years and compulsory retirement.
• High School Diploma (Bachiller), Vocational Training Technician, or equivalent.
• Driving licenses of classes B and A or A2.
• No criminal record for intentional crimes and not having been convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity.
• Commitment to carry weapons and to use them in cases provided for by law.

The deadline for submitting applications is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call announcement in the Official State Gazette. The examination fees amount to 30.00 euros, with exemptions for job seekers under the terms of the tax ordinance and a 50 percent discount for members of large families.

Four eliminating tests and selective course

The competitive examination phase will consist of four mandatory and eliminating exercises:

• Physical fitness: 60-meter sprint, 1,000-meter run, standing broad jump, and medicine ball throw (4 kilograms for men and 3 for women).
• Knowledge test: 80 questions with four alternative answers, plus ten reserve questions, in a maximum of 75 minutes; only a maximum of ten people will pass the test.
• Psychotechnical test: general intelligence and aptitude test, and personality and capabilities test.
• Medical examination, in accordance with the medical exclusion chart.

The competitive examination phase may not exceed six months from the first test, and between exercises, a period of between 72 hours and 45 business days must elapse. Those who pass the process will be appointed as trainee civil servants and must complete a selective course at the Citizen Protection School before being appointed as career civil servants.

The Qualifying Board will be of second category and will be composed of a president who is a career civil servant, the Secretary of the Corporation, with a voice but no vote, and four members, including the person holding the Chief of Local Police position and a civil servant proposed by the Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. The order of appearance for the applicants will begin with the letter “Q”, according to the Resolution of 11/26/2025 of the General Directorate of the Civil Service.

The call for applications exhausts the administrative route and may be challenged through a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Ciudad Real within two months, or an optional appeal for reversal before the body that issued it within one month.

The call opens a permanent employment route in a municipality of slightly more than 13,000 inhabitants and reinforces the Local Police staff, thereby recovering the position that became vacant last March.
