Por FactBox Admin

The Cambre City Council has officially opened the selection process for street vendors for one of the benchmark events of the cultural autumn in the region. Through Mayoral Resolution No. 598/2026, dated August 13, the rules governing the public call for the granting of street vending authorizations in stalls, food trucks, or similar vehicle-shops during the Rock in Cambre 2026 Festival, to be held on September 25 and 26 at the Campo da Feira, in front of the town hall, were approved. The announcement was published today, Tuesday, August 18, in the Official Bulletin of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 156, with announcement number 2026/5401, in the Local Administration section.
The festival is thus consolidated as an event that combines live music with a varied gastronomic offering. The call responds to the need to regulate the presence of vendors at the venue, ensuring equal conditions among candidates and complying with Galicia’s internal trade regulations. The public competition regime ensures that the selection of the 11 stalls is carried out in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner, in accordance with the provisions of Article 76 of Law 13/2010, of December 17, on Internal Trade of Galicia.
A call with 11 positions and a 20-day deadline
The number of authorizations to be granted is limited to 11, a figure determined by the availability of space at Campo da Feira to install the sales stalls. Each stall will have dimensions of 7 by 3 meters, that is, 21 square meters. The authorizations are non-transferable and only one will be granted per person or entity, although each applicant may submit more than one application.
- Application deadline: 20 natural days counted from the day following publication in the BOP (until September 7, 2026).
- Event days: Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, 2026.
- Authorized schedule: from 7:00 PM until one hour after the end of the concerts.
- Space per stall: 7 x 3 meters (21 m²).
- Location: Campo da Feira, in front of the Cambre town hall.
- Authorized products: prepared food products and beverages.
Scoring criteria and award procedure
If the number of applications exceeds the number of available positions, the authorizations will be awarded through a competition, with a scoring system that prioritizes the vendors’ track record at the festival. The scoring criteria add up to a maximum of 17 points and are distributed as follows:
- Seniority at the festival (maximum 10 points): 10 points will be awarded for exercising itinerant vending at the Rock in Cambre with five years of seniority.
- Professional experience (maximum 5 points): 0.50 points per full year of exercising the activity, accredited by means of an employment history report.
- Training (maximum 2 points): 0.10 points for each course, conference or workshop on trade or food matters offered by public entities.
If the number of applications is less than or equal to the number of places, the authorisations will be granted directly. In the event of a tie, it will be resolved by public draw, convened prior to the final resolution.
Requirements for applicants and installation conditions
Those interested in applying for one of the 11 places must prove that they meet a series of requirements required by the regulations:
- Be registered in the corresponding scheme of the Social Security and in the corresponding heading of economic activities of the State Tax Agency.
- Comply with the requirements for labelling, additives, ingredients and allergens in accordance with European, national and regional legislation.
- Pay the fees and taxes set out in the municipal ordinance.
- Hold the training certificate in food handling.
- Have civil liability insurance.
- In the case of shop-vehicles, have a circulation permit, MOT inspection and compulsory insurance.
The installations must comply with safety and health conditions: fixing structures to the ground, trees or tree pit surfaces is prohibited. Electricity supply, surveillance and security will be the responsibility of the vendors, without prejudice to the powers of the Local Police. The fee for the use of public domain is 0.789 euros per square metre per day, according to Fiscal Ordinance No. 23 of the Cambre Town Council.
Applicable regulations and regulatory framework
The call for applications is based on Galician and local legislation on itinerant trade. The fundamental regulatory basis is Law 13/2010, of 17 December, on Interior Trade of Galicia, specifically articles 70 to 78, which regulate itinerant or non-sedentary vending. Added to this are the Regulatory Ordinance on itinerant vending in the municipality of Cambre (published in BOP No. 137 of 19 July 2012, with amendments in 2016 and 2018) and Fiscal Ordinance No. 23 regulating the fee for the private use of public domain (BOP No. 245 of 27 December 2021).
Applications must be submitted to the General Registry of the Cambre Town Council, in person or through the council’s electronic office. It is also possible to justify submission by email to adl@cambre.org in the case of sending by Correos. Subsequent communications will be made by electronic means.
The mayor who signs the resolution is Diana Piñeiro Fernández, dated in Cambre on 13 August 2026. The procedure is guaranteed by the principles of freedom of access, publicity and transparency, established in the municipal ordinance regulating street vending.
