Camargo announces social aid for its municipal staff with 95,000 euros

Por FactBox Admin

The Camargo City Council has opened the 2026 call for social aid for its municipal staff, with a maximum budget of 95,000 euros. The terms were approved by the Municipal Plenary at its session of 30 July 2026 and published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria number 154, of 12 August 2026, through agreement CVE-2026-6410, signed by the mayor Diego Movellán Lombilla.

The call, identified as file RHU_2026_3, regulates the content, management and resolution of the aid provided for in articles 31 to 36 of the Framework Agreement between the Corporation and Civil Servants and the Collective Agreement of the Camargo City Council. The subsidies are granted under a competitive bidding regime through an open call, in accordance with article 14.2 of the General Subsidies Ordinance of the Camargo City Council, published in BOC number 176, of 11 September 2012, and as regards incompatibilities, Law 10/2006, of 17 July, on Subsidies of Cantabria applies.

Six categories and 95,000 euros of budget

The programme is financed under budget line 221.162.04 “Social Action” and distinguishes the following aid lines:

  • Allowance for a child born or adopted (art. 31): 1,380.84 euros.
  • Study aid (art. 32): 30,211.97 euros.
  • Aid for disability and for disabled children (arts. 33 and 34): 37,619.52 euros.
  • Subsidies for orthopaedic, hearing and dental prostheses, surgical interventions and glasses (art. 35): 25,403.68 euros.
  • Other aid (art. 36): 384.00 euros.

The total maximum amount is 95,000 euros, distributed quarterly (16,197.00; 16,197.01; 41,197.01 and 21,408.98 euros), and is subject to the availability of credit in fiscal year 2026; the portion not used in one quarter is carried over to the next.

Beneficiary staff and family unit

Employees in the service of the Camargo City Council covered by the Framework Agreement and the Collective Agreement, with at least one year of uninterrupted service, may apply:

  • Career civil servants and permanent labour staff in active service, on leave for family care, or on leave or suspension of contract due to gender-based violence.
  • Interim civil servants and temporary labour staff who are active on the application date, with a proportional reduction of the aid.

The computable family unit is made up of the employee, his or her spouse or registered de facto partner, and children under 25 years of age living in the same household. If both spouses work for the City Council, the child allowance is received only once, and anyone who already has the right recognised by their social protection system is excluded.

Deadlines, assessment and payment

Applications are submitted quarterly to the Human Resources Section: the third quarter, until 15 October 2026, for expenses from July to September; and the fourth, until 15 January 2027, for expenses from October to December.

The Social Action Committee assesses applications using scales based on job category, number of members in the family unit, and type of aid (university studies, 5 points; orthopedic or hearing prostheses, 5; vocational training, 4; dental procedures, 2; glasses, 1). The Mayor’s Office-Presidency or, by delegation, the Local Government Board resolves within a maximum period of two months, and payment is made in a single installment at the end of the fourth quarter, included in payroll.

With €95,000, the 2026 call strengthens the social action of the Camargo City Council and represents direct economic support for municipal staff and their families at key moments such as births, children’s education, disability, or healthcare expenses. The rules enter into force the day after their publication in the BOC.
