Córdoba submits 2.3 million in budget modifications for public allegations

The Córdoba City Council has initially approved three credit supplements and one extraordinary credit totaling 2,298,390.42 euros over the 2026 municipal budget. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session on September 17, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 187, dated September 28, 2026, with the reference BOP-A-2026-3230. The public exhibition opens a period of fifteen business days to present allegations against the operations.

The edict is processed in accordance with article 177.2 and 6 and article 169 of the Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which approves the revised text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries. The publication is signed by the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Finance, Economy, and Employment, Blanca Torrent Cruz, and by the Secretary General of the Plenary, José Alberto Alcántara Leonés, dated September 22, 2026, and under the protection of Decree No. 8377, of June 17, 2023, regarding delegations of the Mayor’s Office.

This is not the first credit modification of the fiscal year. In the same issue of the gazette, the definitive approval of the 2026 budget modification for the Municipal Tourism Institute of Córdoba (IMTUR) is published, for 850,000 euros in extraordinary credit and credit supplements, financed by the treasury surplus for general expenses, according to reference BOP-A-2026-3210.

The four operations and their amounts

• 1SC260615A70, credit supplement: 829,848.14 euros.
• 1SC260804A15, credit supplement: 560,448.67 euros.
• 1SC260716A30, credit supplement: 468,093.61 euros.
• 1CE260827F10, extraordinary credit: 440,000.00 euros.

The three credit supplements total 1,858,390.42 euros and the extraordinary credit provides the remaining 440,000 euros, reaching a total of 2,298,390.42 euros. The edict does not break down the specific destinations of each budget application.

Fifteen business days to appeal

The file and its complementary documents are available to the public on the municipal Transparency Portal, in the budget modifications section of the economic information area. The period is fifteen business days starting from the day following the publication of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba. During this period, any interested party may consult the documentation and file any allegations they deem appropriate.

Definitive approval if there are no claims

If no allegations are presented, the modifications will be considered definitively approved without the need for a new pronouncement by the Plenary. The procedure replicates that of the other credit modifications of the fiscal year: public information, resolution of the claims presented, and publication of the definitive agreement in the provincial gazette.

The decision directly affects the 2026 municipal accounts and, therefore, the services and transfers funded by the Córdoba City Council. The appeals period is the only available route for residents and interested entities to challenge the operations before they are finalized.
