Cáceres opens 2026 birth grants with 125,000 euros

The Municipal Institute of Social Affairs (IMAS) of the Cáceres City Council has opened the call for 2026 birth financial aid, endowed with 125,000 euros and an amount of 500 euros for each child born or adopted. The regulatory bases were approved by Resolution of the Presidency of the IMAS on September 17, 2026, and are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0182, dated September 23, 2026, in the announcements with references BOP-2026-4403 and BOP-2026-4404. The application period will remain open until December 15, 2026, or until the enabled budget credit is exhausted.

The call is governed by the specific bases approved by the Presidency of the IMAS, by the General Subsidy Ordinance of the Most Excellent City Council of Cáceres —published in the BOP number 184, dated September 27, 2017—, by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and by Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves its Regulation. This line of aid is included in the IMAS Strategic Subsidy Plan for the 2026 financial year, approved by the Governing Council in the session of April 15, 2026, and published in the BOP number 75, dated April 21, 2026.

The file is processed as a direct grant through an open call, under article 22.2 c) of the General Law on Subsidies, for reasons of public, social, and economic interest: the IMAS argues that birth or adoption entails initial expenses that families must face. The total credit amounts to 125,000 euros, charged to budget application 10 23101 48004 and credit retention document number 22026/3051, dated September 15, 2026.

Amount and eligible period

The aid is 500 euros for each child born or adopted between December 16, 2025, and December 15, 2026. In cases of adoption, the date of the judicial resolution —or other form recognized by the legal system of the corresponding country— declaring the adoption is considered equivalent to the date of birth.

The grants are incompatible with any other subsidy granted for the same purpose, and the granting is conditional upon the existence of adequate and sufficient credit. Payment is made in a single installment via transfer to the bank account indicated in the third-party registration form.

Requirements for applicant families

• Both parents or adopters must have legal residence in the municipality of Cáceres.
• They must be registered (empadronados) in Cáceres for at least twelve uninterrupted months prior to the date of application submission.
• They must not fall under the circumstances described in sections 2 and 3 of Article 13 of Law 38/2003 and must be up to date with the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT), the General Treasury of the Social Security (TGSS), and the Municipal Treasury.
• They must be up to date with the payment of obligations for the reimbursement of grants from the City Council of Cáceres and its autonomous bodies.
• They cannot have been beneficiaries of another municipal grant or from its autonomous bodies for the same purpose, objectives, or beneficiary persons.
• Only one of the parents or adopters may submit the application for each son or daughter.
• The beneficiaries commit to remaining registered (empadronados) in Cáceres for the three years following the grant.

In the event of the death of the parent or adopter, or the loss of parental authority or legal guardianship of the minor, the aid may be requested by whoever proves they hold guardianship and custody, provided they meet the same requirements.

Documentation, deadlines, and submission channels

Applications are addressed to the Presidency of the IMAS and may be submitted at the General Registry and the auxiliary registries of the City Council of Cáceres, via the electronic office https://sede.caceres.es, or at any office of the ORVE Network and the electronic registry of the SARA network (https://rec.redsara.es). The required documentation includes the standardized form Mod. 567, the third-party registration form, a valid DNI or equivalent document, the family book or the resolution declaring the adoption, the responsible declaration of compliance with requirements, and the authorization to consult registration (empadronamiento) data.

If the application does not meet the requirements, the interested party will have ten business days to rectify it; otherwise, they will be considered to have withdrawn. The instruction corresponds to the Family Program Technicians of the IMAS and the proposed resolution to the Delegated Department of Social Affairs, Equality, Women, and LGTBI. The Presidency of the IMAS will resolve and notify individually within a maximum period of one month from the receipt of the application.

Granting by order of entry until funds are exhausted

As this is an open call for direct granting, the assessment is limited to verifying that the applicant meets the requirements: all applications that meet them will be beneficiaries until the budget credit is exhausted. Complete applications are processed in strict and rigorous order of entry into the registry, and none are considered submitted until all required documentation is provided.

Against the approval agreement of the call, which concludes the administrative process, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month, or a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cáceres within two months, counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP.

The call reaches families in the capital of Cáceres with a budget of 125,000 euros which, at a rate of 500 euros per birth or adoption, is equivalent to a maximum of 250 grants: early closure due to exhaustion of funds is the main risk for those who leave the application for the end of the period. The announcement is signed by Pilar de la Osa Tejado, secretary of the IMAS, and Rafael Antonio Mateos Pizarro, president of the organization.
