Bujalance opens four lines of aid for SMEs and freelancers

The Bujalance City Council has opened the 2026 call for grants regarding employment and business development, identified in the National Grants Database under number BDNS 926551. The summary of the call, signed by Mayor Elena Alba Castro on August 26, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba number 168, dated August 31, 2026, with the reference BOP-A-2026-2994.

The call is processed under a competitive bidding system and aims to facilitate, stimulate, and support entrepreneurship, the generation of stable employment, and business consolidation within the municipal district. It is governed by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and by the Recast Text of the Regulation of basic rules, published in the BOP of Córdoba number 154, dated August 9, 2024.

Four lines of incentives

The program organizes the aid into four distinct lines, aimed at SMEs according to the European Union definition set out in Annex I of Regulation (EU) No 651/2014:

• Line 1: incentives for the start of activity through the creation of self-employment and SMEs, for new companies registered in 2026.
• Line 2: promotion of economic development through the generation of stable employment, with indefinite employee contracts.
• Line 3: consolidation of self-employment and SMEs through support for investment in productive activities, business associations, and commercial promotion.
• Line 4: incentives for the rental of commercial premises in the urban center of Bujalance for the establishment of businesses.

Beneficiary Requirements

Eligible beneficiaries may be companies with SME status whose tax domicile is located in Bujalance, registered in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) or in a professional association with alternative mutual insurance, or constituted as a commercial company. In the case of companies, the beneficiary status corresponds to the company, not to the partners individually.

For Line 2, it is required that the hired workers be registered as residents in the town, regardless of whether the employer’s tax domicile is in Bujalance or outside of it, provided that the hiring is for workplaces located within the municipality. In Line 3, the consolidated SME must have carried out its activity uninterruptedly for at least 18 months since its last effective registration.

Expenses and deadlines

Eligible expenses are those incurred between January 1, 2026, and the date of the application. Since these are lines under Chapter 4 “Current Transfers,” it is not possible to subsidize inventoriable investment expenses such as computer equipment, machinery, or transport elements. In Line 4, the lease must have a minimum duration of 6 uninterrupted months, and its start date must correspond to the year of the application.
