Por FactBox Admin

The Benicarló City Council has opened the process to temporarily fill four Local Police officer positions through the secondment system. Resolution No. 3101, signed on August 12, 2026, by the delegated councilor for Human Resources, Álvaro Luis París Sánchez, was published on Friday, August 15, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón, number 98, under announcement reference 167557 and file number 03702-2026-U.
The call is based on Article 69 of Law 17/2017, of December 13, of the Generalitat, on Coordination of Local Police Forces of the Valencian Community, and on the powers conferred on the delegated councilor by Articles 21.1.g) and s) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Government, by virtue of a delegation of powers adopted by Mayoral decree of September 18, 2025.
Positions announced and remuneration
The four positions correspond to the category of Officer, classified under the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Local Police class and its auxiliaries. The posts belong to the basic scale, subgroup C1, with a level 20 destination supplement and a specific supplement of 14,192.50 euros per year.
The secondment will have a maximum duration of two years, in accordance with Article 69.2 of Law 17/2017, and will be maintained for the strictly necessary time until the post is permanently filled. Both vacant positions and those pending permanent provision, positions with reservation rights, or substitutions for any of the legally provided causes may be filled.
Requirements for applicants
To participate in the process, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a career civil servant in any of the Local Police Forces of the Valencian Community, with the rank of Officer in subgroup C1.
- Be in active service, with at least two years remaining before transitioning to the second activity status due to age.
- Not have been separated from service through disciplinary proceedings nor disqualified, in accordance with Article 1.d) of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30.
- Possess the functional capacity to perform the duties of the post.
- Have the favorable report from the City Council of origin.
Submission deadline and documentation
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Electronic Headquarters of the Benicarló City Council (https://benicarlo.sedipualba.es) within five business days counted from the day following publication in the BOP, that is, until August 22, 2026. The following documentation must be attached to the application:
- Certification from the originating City Council certifying status as an active-duty civil servant and compliance with the seniority requirement.
- Resolution from the originating Mayor’s Office authorizing, where applicable, the temporary assignment (comisión de servicios).
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Copy of the ID card (DNI).
Selection and assignment process
After the application deadline closes, the Evaluation Committee —composed of the Local Police Chief as president, the General Secretary as secretary, and three career members— will prepare a reasoned report with the list of selected candidates. For the assignment, criteria such as seniority, level of consolidated grade, qualifications, courses related to the position, knowledge of Valencian or EU languages may be considered.
Candidates called to fill the positions must take possession of their posts within ten days following notification of the appointment. The City Council reserves the right to declare any position vacant if, despite the existence of candidates, none is deemed suitable.
Impact on local security
The launch of this call for applications responds to the need of the Benicarló City Council to temporarily reinforce its Local Police force until the definitive selection processes are completed. For local police officers of the Comunitat Valenciana seeking a change of destination or experience in another municipality, this temporary assignment offers a concrete, albeit time-limited, opportunity for professional development in the field of public security.
