Badajoz appoints Vega Rodríguez Bernal as head of the municipal Selection

The Badajoz City Council has resolved the call for the provision of the position of Head of the Selection, Organization, and Labor Relations Service, awarding it through the free appointment procedure to M.ª de la Vega Rodríguez Bernal. The decision, adopted by Mayoral resolution, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz on September 14, 2026, under reference 3552/2026.

The appointment occurs following a file processed in accordance with the rules published in the BOP of Badajoz number 114, of June 17, 2026, and takes effect from the date the new head takes office.

A free appointment process

The procedure is framed within the self-organization power of the local administration, as set out in Article 4.1.a) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and is processed in the exercise of the powers conferred upon the mayor by Article 21.1.g) of the same regulation.

The file includes the agreement to initiate the procedure, requests for evaluative reports on the submitted memorandums, and technical evaluation reports. The Municipal Comptroller’s Office issued a favorable auditing report on August 24, 2026, and the award proposal was submitted by the Fourth Deputy Mayor on August 11, 2026.

Ideal profile for the position

The award proposal justifies the discretionary appointment of M.ª de la Vega Rodríguez Bernal, considering that the applicant meets the merit and capacity requirements demanded in the call. Her profile is suited to the tasks inherent to the position, making her ideal for its performance.

Notification and appeals

The resolution will be notified to the interested party and to the Organization, Selection, and Labor Relations Service, in accordance with the sixth clause of the rules of the call, and its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz is ordered.

Against the resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, the following may be filed:

• Appeal for reversal (Recurso de reposición) before the Mayor’s Office within one month from the day following its notification.
• Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Badajoz within two months, in accordance with Articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015 and Article 46 of Law 29/1998.

The resolution bears the digital signature of the mayor, Ignacio Gragera Barrera.
