Badajoz definitively approves the municipal remote work regulations

The Badajoz City Council has definitively approved the Regulation governing the modality of service provision under a teleworking regime within the Council, its autonomous bodies, and other public entities. The agreement, adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session on July 23, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 163, dated August 26, 2026, via announcement 3379/2026.

The definitive approval comes after completing the public exhibition process. The text was exhibited for fifteen business days from its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province number 144, dated July 30, 2026, without any claims or suggestions being submitted; therefore, the provisional agreement is understood to be definitively adopted.

Regulatory Framework

The processing is based on articles 49, 65.2, and 70.2 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Regime, which regulate the approval of municipal ordinances and regulations and their entry into force following full publication in the official gazette. The regulation affects the entire municipal workforce, including employees of autonomous bodies and other public entities dependent on the City Council.

The regulation establishes the conditions for the provision of services under a teleworking regime, a modality that extends to the various groups of the local administration:

Appeals and Signature

Against the definitive approval, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed directly before the corresponding Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura within a period of two months starting from the day following the publication of the announcement, without prejudice to any other appeal deemed appropriate. The document is signed by the Mayor, by delegation, the Seventh Deputy Mayor, José Antonio Casablanca del Barco.
