Grants of 200,000 euros for the training of non-university teachers

The Department of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG no. 169, of September 7, 2026) the Order of September 2, 2026, establishing the regulatory bases and announcing for the year 2026 the grant procedure to finance the costs of attending training activities for non-university teachers (procedure code ED303A). The call has a maximum budget of 200,000 euros.

The grants, which are processed under a competitive bidding system, finance participation as an attendee in training activities taking place in Galicia, the rest of the Spanish territory, or abroad between January 1 and November 30, 2026. The order derives from the agreement signed on October 11, 2023, between the department and the trade union organizations—to which CSIF joined on December 9, 2025—regarding measures to improve the functioning of the educational system and the working conditions of teaching staff.

Amounts by destination

The grants cover up to 100% of tuition or registration fees, travel, accommodation, and subsistence, with maximum limits depending on the location of the activity:

• Type I, activities in Galicia: up to 400 euros.
• Type II, activities in the rest of the Spanish territory: up to 800 euros.
• Type III, activities abroad: up to 1,500 euros.

The initial amount may be increased based on budget availability, without this resulting in the opening of a new application period.

Who can apply

Beneficiaries may be teaching staff in active service stationed in Galicia in public teaching centers who engage in direct teaching with students, as well as specific guidance teams, advisory positions within the department’s administrative structure, the Educational Inspection, union representatives, and staff in positions subject to agreement. Civil servants in training, interim staff, and substitutes may also apply; in the latter case, provided that at least 85% of the eligible activity takes place during the period of their appointment.

Eligible activities must be related to priority areas such as equality, coexistence and inclusion, health and well-being, information technologies, the STEM field, multilingualism, or the artistic field. Activities organized by the department’s training structures, those of a regulated nature, and those that cannot be subject to individual recognition are excluded.

How and when to submit the application

Applications must be submitted electronically via the standardized form (Annex I) available on the electronic headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia, addressed to the General Directorate of Centers and Human Resources. The deadline is one month starting from the day following the publication of the order in the DOG, that is, until October 7, 2026.

An application may be submitted for up to three different training activities, indicating the order of preference; non-preferred activities will only be processed if there is a remaining budget. The call is listed in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 927777, and the extract was signed by Manuel Vila López, technical general secretary of the department, by delegation.
