Asturias and León extend the joint ski passes for their four resorts
Por FactBox Admin

The Principality of Asturias and the Provincial Council of León have extended for one more year the agreement that allows skiers to move between the four winter resorts of both administrations with common-use lift passes. The third addendum was signed on October 27, 2026, and will be in effect from November 1, 2026, to October 31, 2027. The Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias publishes it in issue 210, dated October 29, 2026, via the Resolution of October 27, 2026, from the Ministry of Presidency, Demographic Challenge, Equality, and Tourism, with official reference 2026-08947.
Three years of uninterrupted collaboration
The master agreement was formalized on May 24, 2024, with the aim of promoting skiing and user mobility between the winter sports facilities of the two administrations. Its fifth clause provided for express extensions for periods of up to four additional years, and this provision has already been activated on two occasions: the first addendum was signed on October 31, 2024 (effective from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025) and the second on October 31, 2025 (from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2026).
The extension is based on the proposal from the agreement’s Monitoring Commission, made on August 17, 2026, which noted “positive results and the need for continuity in the collaboration achieved.” The text maintains the previous clauses in their entirety and may be extended again, through a new addendum, for one more year.
The two lift passes and their prices
The agreement retains the two types of lift passes created at the time and the prices from previous seasons:
- “Inter-resort Daily Pass for season ticket holders”: for those who have a season or annual pass at one resort and purchase a daily pass at another; it costs 80% of the daily pass price of that resort, equivalent to a 20% discount for adults and children, in both high and low seasons.
- “Four days-four resorts Pass”: allows five alternating days of skiing, with one mandatory day at each resort and the fifth day at the user’s choice.
- Adult rate for the “Four days-four resorts Pass” for 2026/27: 70 euros.
- Child rate for the same pass for 2026/27: 55 euros.
The amounts are set each season in the tax ordinances or price decrees of each resort, and any future changes will be agreed upon through new addenda. The revenue from the daily pass is fully assumed by the issuing resort, without distribution.
Revenue distribution and joint promotion
The four-day ski pass is settled at the end of the season, with a distribution of 60% for the Provincial Council of León and 40% for the Principality of Asturias, and the regularization of the balance before August 31 of each year. The Ski-Data sales computer system, or a similar one, will be the support for accrediting annual passes, issuing ski passes, and carrying out settlements; each station must contract the maintenance of the application.
Joint promotions are also planned through brochures, posters, advertising, workshops, or fairs, agreed upon in the Monitoring Commission, with costs assumed at 50% by each administration or at 25% by each of the four stations.
Who signs and who monitors the agreement
The addendum was signed by the president of the Provincial Council of León, Gerardo Álvarez Courel, empowered by the Plenary agreement of September 30, 2026, and the counselor of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport, Ana Vanesa Gutiérrez González, representing the Asturian Government —pursuant to the agreement of the Governing Council of October 27, 2026— and the Public Company for Tourism and Cultural Management and Promotion of the Principality of Asturias, S. A., whose executive presidency she leads. The secretary general of the Provincial Council, María Ángeles Fernández Cuadrado, acted as the certifying officer. Monitoring is the responsibility of a commission composed of:
- The president of the Provincial Council of León or their delegate.
- The counselor of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport or their delegate.
- The managers of Valgrande-Pajares, Fuentes de Invierno, San Isidro, and Valle Laciana-Leitariegos.
The applicable legal regime is that of inter-administrative agreements under Law 40/2015, of October 1, articles 47 to 53, with disputes submitted to the contentious-administrative jurisdiction.
The extension arrives just before the start of the snow season and provides continuity to an instrument that commercially links the mountain regions of both sides of the range: the city councils and tourism entrepreneurs of the Pajares, Aller, and Laciana valleys depend on an opening calendar and common rates that are now guaranteed for one more year. Publication in the BOPA also fulfills the obligation to publicize agreements imposed by the Law of the Principality of Asturias 4/2025, of November 19.
