Por FactBox Admin

The Principality of Asturias has granted subsidies totaling 1,499,999.75 euros to 42 sports federations of the Principality to finance their programs for the 2026 fiscal year. This was decided by the Department of Culture, Linguistic Policy, and Sport through the Resolution of October 14, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) No. 203, of October 20, 2026 (Code 2026-08504). The distribution is listed in Annex I of the resolution, with details on the file, federation, CIF (Tax ID), and amount.
Competitive bidding and budgetary support
The grants are processed under a competitive bidding regime under the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the regulatory bases approved by the Resolution of May 26, 2017, of the then Department of Education and Culture. The call for the fiscal year was approved by Resolution of March 24, 2026, and the evaluation of applications was carried out by the collegiate body designated by Resolution of September 1, 2026, which met on September 29, 2026.
The expenditure is charged to budgetary concept 21.04.457A.482.036 of the General Budgets of the Principality for 2026, with authorization from the Government Council of February 26, 2026. The resolution confirms that all submitted applications met the requirements, therefore none were rejected, and that the beneficiary entities proved to be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations.

Payments, justification, and appeal
Payment will generally be made once the execution of the program has been credited and expenses have been justified. However, grants not exceeding 6,010 euros will be paid in advance upon the signing of the resolution, while those of a higher amount will be paid after the activity has been credited. Beneficiaries are exempt from providing a guarantee, except for proof of being up to date with tax and Social Security obligations, a requirement from which those receiving 3,005 euros or less are exempt.
The deadline to justify before the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sport ends on November 3, 2026. The resolution, signed by counselor Ana Vanessa Gutiérrez González, concludes the administrative process and allows for a contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Asturias within two months, without prejudice to the optional appeal for reversal.
The distribution reaches 42 federations and covers everything from major sports to minority disciplines, thus influencing the planning of competitions, technical training, and ordinary activity of Asturian clubs and federated athletes throughout the fiscal year.
