Arroyomolinos boosts birth rate with a grant aimed at families
The Arroyomolinos de la Vera City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres the call for the granting of the “Promotion of Birth Rate” subsidy for the year 2025. This initiative, signed by the mayor Manuel Mateos Campos, comes into force the day after its official publication, which took place on August 18, 2026.
The measure, included in Section I - Local Administration of the gazette, aims to respond to the demographic challenge and, at the same time, boost the local economy, since it requires that 100% of the amount granted be used for purchases in the municipality’s businesses. The regulatory bases were approved at the City Council’s Ordinary Plenary Session on June 13, 2024.
Two aid lines and a credit of €4,500
The call establishes two subsidy lines with a maximum total credit of €4,500, included in budget item 231-480.01 (BIRTH RATE PROMOTION SUBSIDY) of the municipal expenditure budget. The aid is granted under a non-competitive concurrence regime.
- First line: €1,000 per beneficiary, for children born or adopted in 2025, with a limit of €2,000.
- Second line: €500 per beneficiary, for minors up to 3 years of age (referring to the year 2025), with a limit of €2,500 and a maximum of two annual payments.
It is established that one cannot be a beneficiary of both lines in the same call. The effective amount to be granted will be that accredited in the supporting account, within the established limits.
Requirements and deadlines for interested families
Married couples, adopters, registered partnerships, or single-parent families registered in Arroyomolinos de la Vera who have had children or carried out an adoption in the year 2025 may apply for the subsidy. For the second line, it applies to minors up to 3 years of age in that same year.
The main requirements include:
- Effective residence and registration in the municipality of at least one of the parents or guardians before January 30, 2025 and always prior to the birth or adoption.
- The minor must also be registered in the municipality.
- Maintaining residence during the two years following the granting of the subsidy.
- Not having been a beneficiary of other aid for the same concept.
The deadline for submitting applications begins the day after the publication of the extract in the gazette and ends on October 31, 2026. Applications must be addressed to the Mayor and submitted to the City Council Registry, accompanied by the corresponding supporting documentation, such as registration certificates, family book, and a responsible declaration of expenses.
Competent bodies and resolution process
The instruction of the procedure corresponds to the Councillor for Social Affairs, Mrs. Brígida Mateos Vicente. For the assessment of the applications, a committee is constituted, made up of Rosalía García Vicente (chairwoman), Antonio Olinero Aguilar (member) and Alicia Rodríguez García (secretary).
After the evaluation, the committee will submit a provisional proposal to the instructor, which will be published on the municipal notice board and on the town hall website so that applicants may submit allegations within a period of 10 business days. The competent body to resolve is the Mayor, who will issue the final decision within a maximum period of one month from the final proposal.
This subsidy represents a clear commitment by the municipality to retain population and support families in the first years of life of minors, also encouraging consumption in the local commercial fabric. The publication of this call in the BOP de Cáceres guarantees the transparency and publicity of the process.
