Arbeteta increases the award for perpetual columbariums to 512.47 euros
Por FactBox Admin

The Arbeteta City Council has made public the approval of the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of the municipal Cemetery service, which incorporates a new fee of 512.47 euros for the allocation of columbariums in perpetuity. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, number 195, corresponding to Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and is signed by the mayor-president, Juan Moral Donoso, in Arbeteta on September 11, 2026.
The resolution invokes the agreement adopted in the ordinary session of the Plenary of the Arbeteta City Council dated June 28 and the competence attributed to the Mayor’s Office by article 21.1 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Regime. The file is processed in accordance with article 17.3 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, the regulation that governs the approval and publication of local fiscal ordinances.
The new fee and its location in the ordinance
The approved text introduces a single provision in the regulating norm of the cemetery fee:
- Heading 1.2 of Section VII. Tax Rate, within Article 8 of the ordinance.
- Concept: allocation of columbariums in perpetuity.
- Amount: five hundred twelve euros and forty-seven cents (512.47 euros).
The modification is therefore limited to the fee applicable to the perpetual concession of niches in a columbarium, without the announcement detailing other fees for the municipal funeral service.
Processing, deadlines, and allegations
The plenary agreement is subject to the public information process provided for in the local treasury regulations:
- Display of the file on the City Council’s notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province.
- A period of thirty business days to examine the file and submit claims.
- Consultation available at the municipal electronic office, arbeteta.sedelectronica.es.
- If no claims are submitted within that period, the agreement will be considered final by virtue of article 17.3 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries.
- The Mayor’s Office is authorized to sign the documents related to the matter.
Other municipalities also review their cemetery fees
The revision of funeral ordinances is a recent trend in the province of Guadalajara, according to the announcements published in the same provincial gazette:
- Escariche finalized the modification of its cemetery services ordinance, with 600.00 euros for columbariums, in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 180, dated September 22, 2026.
- Hita submitted the modification of its municipal cemetery fee ordinance for public review, in number 154, dated August 13, 2026.
- Alustante published the initial approval of the modification of the fiscal ordinance of its municipal cemetery, in number 153, dated August 12, 2026.
In the case of Arbeteta, the new columbarium fee is lower than that set by Escariche, although these are municipalities with different populations and funeral services, so the comparison is only for guidance.
What this means for residents
The measure directly affects residents who use the municipal cemetery of Arbeteta and, in particular, those who request the perpetual allocation of a columbarium, who from now on will pay 512.47 euros for this concept. As it is a modification of a fiscal ordinance, the fee will be applied generally and does not require individualized approval for each file. Interested parties have thirty business days from the publication to review the file and submit allegations before the agreement becomes final.
