Aragón resolves grants for private performing arts venues
Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport of the Government of Aragon has resolved the 2026 call for performing arts grants in the category of programming for privately managed exhibition venues, with a total amount of 200,000 euros. The decision is formalized through Order PJC/1509/2026, dated October 7, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 205, dated October 22, 2026, with official reference BOA20261022017. The regulation bears the signature of the Vice President and Councilor María del Mar Vaquero Perianez.
The original call is Order ECD/537/2026, dated March 25, published in the Official Gazette of Aragon number 68, dated April 10, 2026, which established a global allocation of 915,000 euros for the performing arts in Aragon. Of that amount, 515,000 euros were reserved for the production of shows, 200,000 euros for tours and performances outside of Aragon, and 200,000 euros for programming in private exhibition venues, which is the category now resolved. The applicable regulatory bases are Order ECD/1248/2022, dated September 6, modified by Order ECD/1803/2022 and Order EDC/126/2025.
Eight applications and full distribution of credit
The application period, lasting ten business days, opened on April 13 and concluded on April 27, 2026. In this category, eight applications were received, and all met the requirements to be beneficiaries as provided in the fifth section of the call.
The Evaluation Commission met on July 15, 2026, and evaluated the eight projects according to the criteria of the eighteenth section. The General Directorate of Culture and Cultural Heritage, as the instructing body, formulated a provisional proposal on July 21, 2026, published on the Department’s website with five business days for objections. Only one reformulation was registered, submitted by Estación Tranvía Teatro, SL for the project “Programming of cultural contents Teatro de la Estación,” which was unanimously accepted as it respected the object, conditions, and purpose and did not alter the score. There were no objections.
The final proposal was issued on August 7, 2026, and all beneficiaries communicated their express acceptance within the deadline. The Comptroller’s Office of the Government of Aragon issued a favorable prior fiscal audit on September 25, 2026.
Ties, limits, and one application without aid
The distribution was adjusted according to the score obtained, with two exceptions detailed in the order:
- Teatro Arbolé, SL and Teatro de las Esquinas, SL receive the aid corresponding to their score.
- Titiriteros de Binéfar, SL, Cotipin, SL, and Producciones Teatrales Viridiana, SL receive the requested amount, which is the maximum possible, although their score would have allowed for a higher figure.
- Estación Tranvía Teatro, SL and Creadores de Ocio, SL are tied at 84 points and split the remaining 28,670 euros equally: 14,335 euros each.
- Pintacoda Animación, SL receives no aid due to lack of budget availability and is listed among the rejected applications in Annex II.
Annex I, containing entities, projects, amounts, and scores, can be consulted at the address https://mia.aragon.es/documentos with the Secure Verification Code CSV0K6BVCQ5LC1O0XFIL. The expenditure is charged to item G/18060/4581/470020/91002, PEP 2006/000992, of the budget extended for 2026.
Justification until November 19
Beneficiary entities must justify the activity and expenses executed between November 14, 2025, and November 13, 2026, paid by November 18, 2026. The period opens the day after the publication of the order and ends on November 19, 2026, through the “Submit documentation” digital service of the electronic headquarters of the Government of Aragon.
Payment is made once the fulfillment of the purpose has been accredited and the project justified, and is conditional upon being up to date with tax obligations and Social Security. The grants are subject to the de minimis regime of Regulation (EU) 2023/2831, with a limit of 300,000 euros per company over three fiscal years.
Against the order, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month or a contentious-administrative appeal within two months before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Aragon.
The resolution closes the 2026 calendar for private Aragonese theaters and confirms that the credit for this modality is fully exhausted, with seven companies supported and one exclusion due to budget insufficiency. For the theaters and city councils that organize their programming with these grants, the immediate milestone is the justification before November 19, a prerequisite for payment.
