Almoguera opens two job pools: school cafeteria and playroom
Por FactBox Admin

The Almoguera City Council has opened the call to establish two temporary labor personnel employment pools: one for the position of school cafeteria monitor/caregiver and another for the position of playroom monitor. Both selections are processed through the merits competition system and are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara number 154, of August 13, 2026, signed by the mayor Antonio Barona Muñoz (the cafeteria announcement, on August 11; the playroom one, on August 6).
The two announcements, included in the Municipalities section of the gazette, are framed within public employment regulations: Law 4/2011, of March 10, on Public Employment of Castilla-La Mancha, the Consolidated Text of the Basic Statute of Public Employees (Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30), and Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of Local Government. The process consists of a single competition phase, non-eliminatory in nature, in which training is valued at up to 2 points and work experience up to 3 points. The contracts will be temporary, part-time or full-time, Monday through Friday, and the positions will be performed in municipal buildings in Almoguera.
Two profiles for education and work-life balance
The school cafeteria monitor/caregiver pool (announcement 2026/2170) will cover supervision of students during cafeteria hours, support in meal distribution, and promotion of hygienic-sanitary and coexistence habits. The playroom monitor pool (announcement 2026/2172) will handle planning recreational, educational, and leisure activities for children, group facilitation in a safe environment, inclusion of minors with special educational needs, and coordination with families and municipal services.
Requirements and qualifications
Applicants must have Spanish nationality, be at least 16 years old, not be disqualified, and provide a negative certificate from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders, among other common requirements. The required training differs by position:
- School cafeteria: certificate of completed primary studies or equivalent and food handler card.
- Playroom: Higher Technician in Early Childhood Education, Higher Technician in Sociocultural and Tourism Animation, Higher Technician in Sport Teaching and Sociosport Animation, Leisure and Free Time Monitor, Nursery or Kindergarten Assistant, or other qualifications in the same field with more than 100 hours of training and official recognition or public endorsement.
Deadline, applications, and scoring scale
Applications, addressed to the Mayor-President, shall be submitted at the City Council registry or through the channel provided for in Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, within ten business days counted from the day following publication in the bulletin. A panel composed of a president, a secretary and three members will assess the merits evidenced by documentation:
- Training (maximum 2 points): 0.50 points per additional qualification; courses are scored by duration, from 0.10 points (up to 50 hours) to 1 point (more than 200 hours).
- Experience (maximum 3 points): 0.15 points per month worked in any public administration and 0.10 points per month in private companies.
In the event of a tie, it will be broken in favor of the candidate with the highest score in experience, then in training and, lastly, by alphabetical order of the first surname starting with the letter «B», according to the draw published by the State Secretariat for the Civil Service on 29 June 2026.
Operation of the job pool
The job pools shall have indefinite duration, until a new selection process replaces them. Calls shall be made in order of score: if the telephone route is chosen, at least three attempts will be made between 9:00 and 14:00, and the candidate must accept or reject the offer within a maximum of 24 hours. Unjustified refusal means moving to the last place on the list, while leave due to illness, accident, maternity or holding public office justifies keeping the position in the pool.
With these two calls for applications, Almoguera ensures an agile mechanism to cover vacancies, substitutions, vacations and temporary incapacity in two services with a direct impact on families: the school cafeteria and the municipal playroom. As they are merit-based competitions, hiring may be resolved in order of preference without the need to open a selection process each time, which reinforces the stability of childcare in the municipality.
