Almendralejo approves exclusive dedication of 2,612.64 euros for Education and Youth

The Plenary of the Almendralejo City Council approved in an ordinary plenary session on September 29, 2026, the modification of the release regime for elected officials of the Corporation, which suppresses the current remunerative regime of the Area of Cultural Action and Promotion, Youth and Citizen Participation and creates an exclusive dedication of 2,612.64 gross euros per month for the Area of Education, Training, Childhood and Family, Youth, Sport, Health and Consumption. The agreement is published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz No. 199, of October 16, 2026, under reference 4092/2026, and bears the signature of the Mayor-President, José María Ramírez Morán.

The agreement is adopted under articles 75.1.2, 75.bis.1, and 75.ter.1 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, which establish the framework for the remuneration and dedication regime of members of local corporations. The modification occurs within the same mandate in which the Mayoralty-Presidency has reorganized the delegation of powers among the members of the government team, by means of decree 2026-3152, of September 15, published in the Official Gazette of the Province No. 179, of September 18, 2026.

Suppression of the previous regime and new remunerated area

The first point of the agreement suppresses the remunerative regime that had been applied to the Area of Cultural Action and Promotion, Youth and Citizen Participation. The second creates the remunerative regime of the Area of Education, Training, Childhood and Family, Youth, Sport, Health and Consumption, with exclusive dedication.

The remuneration is set at 2,612.64 gross euros per month in accordance with the current budget, with the update provided for in the plenary agreement of June 28, 2023. The amount is received in fourteen payments: twelve corresponding to the monthly payments of the year and two more in June and December, with the corresponding registration in the General Social Security Regime.

Requirements for acceptance and entry into force

The appointment of a member of the Corporation to one of these positions only activates the exclusive dedication regime if the appointee expressly accepts it. This circumstance must be communicated to the Plenary in the following ordinary session.

The remunerations will take effect from the day following the decree of delegations issued by the Mayoralty-Presidency regarding the delegation of powers to corporate members, subject to the acceptance of the appointee. The agreement further details these obligations:

• Suppress the remuneration scheme of the Area of Cultural Action and Promotion, Youth and Citizen Participation.
• Create the remuneration scheme for the Area of Education, Training, Childhood and Family, Youth, Sport, Health and Consumption with exclusive dedication.
• Set the remuneration at 2,612.64 gross euros per month in fourteen payments.
• Update the remuneration of the members of the Corporation annually according to the increase established by the General State Budget Law for personnel in the service of public administrations.
• Publish the agreement in full in the Official Provincial Gazette and notify the interested parties, the Human Resources Section, and the Comptroller’s Office.

Annual update and expenditure control

The third point links the annual update of the remuneration of the members of the Corporation to the increase set by the General State Budget Law for personnel in the service of public administrations. The sixth orders the full publication of the agreement in the Official Provincial Gazette, its notification to the interested parties, and its transfer to the Human Resources Section and the municipal Comptroller’s Office for their knowledge and appropriate effects.

The decision has a direct effect on the personnel expenditure chapter of the Almendralejo City Council and on the organization of the government team, as exclusive dedication implies that the elected official receives a fixed remuneration and is subject to the incompatibility regime provided for personnel with exclusive dedication.

Impact for residents

The modification sets the salary cost of the area assuming Education, Training, Childhood and Family, Youth, Sport, Health and Consumption at 2,612.64 gross euros per month, in fourteen payments, and eliminates the remuneration that until now corresponded to Cultural Action and Promotion, Youth and Citizen Participation. The agreement is published for general knowledge, so that any resident can consult the details of the decision and its fit within the current municipal budget.
