Alcanar obre 25.000 euros en subvencions per a entitats esportives

The Alcanar City Council has opened the call for grants, under a competitive bidding process, intended for sports entities in the municipality for the 2026 financial year, with a maximum budget of 25,000 euros. The summary of the call, registered in the National Grants Database under number 936837, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on October 27, 2026 (CVE 2026-09848). The deadline for submitting applications ends on November 15, 2026.

The Local Governing Board of Alcanar, in a session on August 20, 2026, approved the regulatory bases for these aids and their call. The full text of the bases had already been published in the BOPT on August 31, 2026 (CVE 2026-08144, file 3634/2026), following an initial approval by the Local Governing Board on August 26 and a public information period of 20 business days.

The aids are processed by the Department of Sports and are allocated to the budget application 341-4800000 Grant for Sports Entities, with a cap of 25,000 euros that cannot be exceeded under any circumstances. The amount granted cannot exceed 100% of the total cost of the project, and the granting is subject to the availability of credit. The announcement was signed by the mayor, Marc Chavalera Esbri, on October 21, 2026.

Deadline, requirements and execution period

  • Applications until November 15, 2026, mandatory via electronic means through the website of the Alcanar City Council (www.alcanar.cat).
  • Legal entities registered in the municipal entities registry with a minimum seniority of six months may apply.
  • The projects submitted must be deficit-funded, and the collaboration of the City Council must be stated in all printed documentation, posters, and audiovisual media.
  • The funded activities must have been executed between November 1, 2025, and October 31, 2026.
  • Beneficiaries must be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations, submit to the control of the General Comptroller, and keep the supporting documents for six years.

A scale that rewards grassroots sports and municipal involvement

The objective evaluation criteria combine economic, social, and strictly sporting aspects:

  • Expense volume: up to 40 points for more than 5,000 euros.
  • Activity volume: up to 40 points for more than 10 activities.
  • Collaboration with the Alcanar City Council: up to 60 points if it is active and continuous.
  • Promotion and dissemination of the city’s name: up to 40 points.
  • Seniority and tradition of the club: up to 15 points, at a rate of 0.25 points per year.
  • Promotion of grassroots sports: up to 150 points for more than 199 practitioners under 14 years of age.
  • Federation licenses and practitioners: up to 150 points for more than 199 licenses.
  • Competition scope: up to 60 points in international competition.
  • Collaboration with social services: 5 points for each person served.

Eligible expenses and excluded expenses

Current expenses directly related to the activity or program are considered eligible for subsidies: licenses, refereeing, insurance, materials, and travel by plane, train, or bus, provided they are justified with an invoice or ticket in the name of the beneficiary entity.

Excluded, among others, are:

  • The acquisition of investment assets.
  • Meals and mileage using own means.
  • Telephone, ADSL, electricity, water, and utilities.
  • Photocopies and office supplies.
  • Debit interest, surcharges, and administrative or criminal penalties.
  • Expenses from judicial proceedings.

Valuation commission, resolution, and appeals

The instruction corresponds to the Department of Sports through a valuation commission composed of the mayor or the person to whom they delegate, the councilor of the area, the technician, administrative or auxiliary staff of the area, and personnel from the Intervention and/or treasury department, appointed by mayoral resolution. The competent body to resolve is the Local Government Board, which may declare the contest void or not exhaust the total planned credit.

The maximum resolution period is three months from the closing of the application period, with notification within a maximum of 10 days; the lack of resolution has the effect of dismissal. Payment is made in a single installment once the supporting documents are presented, and the subsidy is compatible with other aid received for the same activity. An administrative contentious appeal may be filed against the resolution within two months or, optionally, an appeal for reversal within one month.

For the sports clubs and associations of Alcanar, the call is the main route for ordinary municipal financing and arrives with a crowded calendar: the deadline to submit projects ends on November 15, and the distribution of the 25,000 euros will depend mainly on the number of practitioners under 14 years of age, federation licenses, and the degree of involvement of each entity with the council.
