Alcañiz opens the collection of grazing and vehicle taxes

Por FactBox Admin

The Alcañiz City Council has approved the tax rolls for the pasture utilization fee and the fee for vehicle entry via sidewalks and public road reservations for parking, loading, and unloading of goods, corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year. The voluntary payment period will open on September 2 and will extend until November 2, 2026, both inclusive, as published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel, issue number 164, dated August 28, 2026.

Both tax rolls were approved by respective Mayoral decrees dated August 25, 2026, numbers 2475 and 2473, and are published as a collective notification under Article 102 of the General Tax Law and Article 24 of the General Collection Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29. The list of those obligated to pay will be available for public inspection for a period of twenty days starting from the beginning of the collection period.

Two tax rolls approved by decree

The pasture utilization fee, identified by number 2026-2530, taxes the use of municipal pastures and directly affects livestock farmers carrying out their activity within the municipality of Alcañiz. For its part, the fee for vehicle entry via sidewalks and public road reservations, number 2026-2531, falls upon the holders of vehicle access and reservations for parking, loading, and unloading, which particularly affects businesses and establishments in the municipality.

The payment deadline is set in accordance with the regulating fiscal ordinance and Article 62.3 of the General Tax Law 58/2003, of December 17. The announcements bear the signature of the mayor, Mr. Miguel Ángel Estevan Serrano, dated August 26, 2026.

Deadline and method of payment

Payment may be made through any authorized collaborating entity. Taxpayers who have not received the payment documentation within the first twenty days of the collection period may request it; however, the failure to receive it does not exempt them from the obligation to make the payment. Direct debit receipts will be charged directly to the accounts designated by the taxpayers.

  • Voluntary period: from September 2 to November 2, 2026, both inclusive.
  • Public exhibition: twenty days from the start of the collection period.
  • Method of payment: authorized collaborating entity or bank direct debit.

Enforcement and appeals

Once the voluntary payment period has elapsed without payment having been made, collection will proceed via the enforcement procedure (procedimiento de apremio), including the corresponding surcharge plus late payment interest and procedural costs. Obliged parties may file a motion for reconsideration (recurso de reposición) before the body that approved the tax roll within one month from the end of the public exhibition period; against its dismissal, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Teruel.

The commencement of collection represents a key step for the financing of municipal services in Alcañiz, while requiring livestock farmers and businesses to regularize their tax obligations within the established deadline. Those who do not make payment during the voluntary period expose themselves to surcharges, interest, and costs of the enforcement procedure.
