EU Council extends temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 2028

The Council of the European Union adopted Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1912, published in the Official Journal on 4 August 2026, extending until 4 March 2028 the temporary protection of nearly 4.4 million displaced Ukrainians. From 31 July 2026, new grants require proof of compliance with Ukrainian military obligations.
