USDA deregulates blight-tolerant genetically engineered American chestnut
The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has determined that the genetically engineered blight-tolerant Darling 54 American Chestnut is no longer a regulated article, a landmark step for the species’ restoration and for the regulation of engineered trees in the United States.
