Tohoku Regional Development Bureau Announces Public Tenders for Sakata Port Dredging Works and Other Projects

The Tohoku Regional Development Bureau published a notice in the Official Gazette Extra Government Procurement No. 112, dated August 26, 2026, announcing a general competitive bid for dredging works for the shipping channels and anchorages of Sakata Port in Yamagata Prefecture. The target project, “Sakata Port Outer Port Area Shipping Channel and Anchorage (-12m) Outer Dredging Work,” falls under item classification number 41 and involves dredging, soil disposal, and site surveys. The construction period is from the date of contract conclusion until November 30, 2027.

Eligibility for Competition: Specified JV or Individually Qualified Contractors

To participate in the competition, bidders must be a Specified Construction Joint Venture (Specified JV) or an individually qualified contractor whose objective score for “Port and Harbor Dredging Work” among the FY2025/2026 general competitive bidding qualifications of the Tohoku Regional Development Bureau (Port and Airport related) is above the criteria.

  • Specified JV Representative or Individually Qualified Contractor: 950 points or more
  • Members of a Specified JV other than the representative: 750 points or more
  • Similar work is defined as dredging work in shipping channels or anchorages; the representative, etc., must have a track record of pump dredging of 360,000m³ or more
  • The Chief (Supervising) Engineer must hold a qualification of 1st Class Civil Engineering Construction Management Engineer or higher and be assigned exclusively
  • It is also possible to assign a technical instructor to guide Chief Engineers, etc., who lack experience

Saga University Bids Electrical Equipment Work via Lowest Price Method

National University Corporation Saga University has put out for general competitive bid the electrical equipment renewal work, including high-voltage receiving and transforming equipment, within the campus. The Expenditure Burdening Officer is President Koichi Noda.

Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau Announces Erosion Control Works in Noto

Masatoshi Ueda, Director General of the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau, has published a public notice regarding the qualifications for competitive participation as a community-maintenance type construction joint venture. The target consists of two projects on the Noto Peninsula, with the application period from August 26 to October 8, 2026.
