Zarza de Granadilla initiates deregistration of six residents for improper residency

The City Council of Zarza de Granadilla has agreed to initiate ex officio deregistration proceedings from the Municipal Register of Inhabitants against six individuals for improper registration, as it has been established that they do not habitually reside at the address where they are registered. The decision, adopted by the Mayor-Presidency of the municipality, has been made public via edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0168, dated September 2, 2026, with reference BOP-2026-4144.

The procedure is being processed in application of articles 54 and 72 of the Population and Territorial Demarcation Regulations of Local Entities (Royal Decree 1690/1986) and the technical instructions of the National Statistics Institute (INE). Since personal notification could not be carried out due to reasons beyond the council’s control or because the whereabouts of the interested parties are unknown, publication by edict is used as formal notification, in accordance with article 44 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The edict, signed by the mayor-president Jesús Puertas Pastor on August 27, 2026, identifies the six affected residents, all listed with passport numbers, within file 223/2026:

Deadline for appeals

The interested parties are granted a period of 10 business days, counting from the day following the publication of the edict in the BOP of Cáceres or on the City Council’s Edict Board, to appear at the municipal offices or via the Electronic Office, to submit allegations and provide the documents or evidence they deem appropriate for their defense.

Once this period has elapsed without allegations being presented or effective residence being proven, a resolution for definitive deregistration from the Municipal Register of Inhabitants will be issued.
