Zamora calls for 57,000 euros for festivals of tourist interest

The Zamora Tourism Board has announced competitive grants for a total amount of 57,000.00 euros, intended for Local Entities in the province with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants where Festivals declared of Tourist Interest take place during the year 2026. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Zamora number 104, dated September 7, 2026, in the Other official announcements section.

The measure is formalized through the Extract of Presidency Resolution No. 2026-0404, dated September 1, 2026, rectified by the Presidency Decree No. 2026-0409, dated September 2, 2026, and is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 927684.

Object and purpose of the call

The purpose of the grant is the organization, promotion, and enhancement of the Festivals declared of Tourist Interest of Castilla y León in the province of Zamora, in accordance with the Order of July 23, 1990, of the Ministry of Development and the Order of March 14, 1995, of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which replaces it. Local entities that meet the requirements set forth in the regulatory bases may obtain beneficiary status, in accordance with Article 13 of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and Article 18 and following of Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21.

The festivals covered by the call are as follows:

• Los Carochos de Riofrío de Aliste.
• Carnival of Toro and Holy Week of Toro.
• Good Friday of Bercianos de Aliste.
• La Veguilla de Benavente and the Toro Enmaromado de Benavente.
• Romería de Los Viriatos de Fariza.
• Grape Harvest Festival of Toro.
• El Zangarrón de Sanzoles.
• Medieval Market of Puebla de Sanabria.
• El baile del Niño de Venialbo.
• La Virgen de la Salud de Alcañices.
• Holy Week of Fuentesaúco, Benavente, and Villalpando.
• Cencerros Carnivals of Villanueva de Valrojo.
• Los Cencerrones de Abejera.

Eligible expenses and amount

Expenses for the promotion and enhancement of the festival will be eligible for subsidies, such as the editing of informative or advertising material, advertising campaigns on online and offline media, the organization of familiarization trips with tourism agents, media, influencers, and bloggers, as well as the publication of studies or books about the festival. Also included are organizational expenses linked to the celebration, including the rental of audiovisual technical equipment, tents, stands, and booths, and the hiring of music bands, musical groups, animation groups, and security or first aid services.

Investment expenses, as well as food and catering expenses, are expressly excluded, except for those corresponding to familiarization trips. In no case may the amount of the grant, whether alone or in conjunction with other aid, exceed the cost of the subsidized activity.

Credit and submission deadline

The grants will be awarded charged to budget item 432.462.25 of the General Budgets of the Tourism Board for the current fiscal year, of which 57,000.00 euros are allocated for this purpose. The deadline for submitting applications shall be fifteen days, counting from the day following the publication of the summary in the Official Provincial Gazette.

The annexes and the documentation of the call are available to interested parties on the Electronic Office of the Provincial Tourism Board of Zamora. The resolution is signed in Zamora on September 2, 2026, by the president of the Board, Javier Faúndez Domínguez.

This call reinforces the role of traditional festivals as a driver for tourism promotion in the province, allowing small Zamoran municipalities to finance the dissemination and organization of deeply rooted celebrations that attract visitors and revitalize the rural environment.
