Xunta awards €710,000 to seven Galician NGO programmes

The Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Sports of the Xunta de Galicia has resolved to grant 709,999.13 euros to seven transformative education and social innovation and communication programmes promoted by non-governmental development organisations (NGDOs). The resolution, issued on 5 August 2026 by the Director General for External Relations and with the European Union, Jesús Gamallo Aller, was published on Monday 17 August in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) number 154 (pages 44765 to 44769).

The call is framed within the Order of 11 May 2026, published in the DOG on 25 May of that same year, which established the regulatory bases for granting subsidies under competitive bidding procedures intended to finance transformative education and social innovation programmes implemented by Galician NGDOs. The procedure is identified by code PR803E.

Seven programmes selected from ten applications

Under the call, ten applications were submitted, six in the social innovation and communication line and four in the transformative education line. After the Evaluation Committee assessed the applications at its meetings on 29 and 31 July 2026, seven achieved the necessary score. The beneficiary entities and their programmes are:

• Assembly of Cooperation for Peace (ACPP) – They decide: body, territory and peace. Strengthening social and institutional commitment to a feminist culture of peace – €110,000 (innovation and social communication line).
• International Solidarity of Galicia – Human library, books that tell stories. Stories of cooperation and solidarity – €109,999.82 (innovation and social communication line).
• Galician Association of Communication for Social Change (Agareso) – Strengthening the strategies, capacities and tools of social organisations and the communication sector in Galicia for the defence of human rights and democracy in the global sphere – €110,000 (innovation and social communication line).
• Mans Unidas – Catholic Committee for the Campaign Against Hunger, together with the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) – Enreda: transformative education for global eco-citizenship and school agroecology in the network of rural educational centres for the human right to food and SDG 2 Zero Hunger (2026-2028) – €90,000 (transformative education line).
• Vicente Ferrer Foundation – You also count: spun stories of rural women to create critical citizenship with feminist awareness – €89,999.31 (transformative education line).
• Education and Cooperation Foundation – Child protection from the perspective of the 2030 Agenda. A path of social transformation for the prevention of violence – €90,000 (transformative education line).
• Solidarity Workshop Foundation – Entangled in change: sound cartography of global north-south feminist entrepreneurship. Voices, knowledge and territories that sustain life – €110,000 (innovation and social communication line).

A budget of €720,000 for the 2026-2028 three-year period

The total budget allocation for the call is €720,000, distributed over three annual instalments: €180,000 in 2026, €270,000 in 2027 and €270,000 in 2028. The subsidies granted to each programme are distributed as 25% in the first year, 37.5% in the second and 37.5% in the third. The maximum amount per programme is €90,000 in the transformative education line and €110,000 in the innovation and social communication line, financing up to 95% of the total budget of each project.

The credit is allocated under budget item 05.07.331A.481.0 of the general budgets of the Autonomous Community. The resolution was signed in Santiago de Compostela on 5 August 2026, with the approval of the Deputy Directorate General for External Cooperation and the audit of the Delegated Intervention.

Three applications were unsuccessful

Of the ten applications submitted, three did not receive funding. Fundación InteRed (file number PR803E-2026-00000002-00) and Fundación Entreculturas-Fe e Alegría (file number PR803E-2026-00000005-00) withdrew their applications due to the impossibility of adapting their programmes to the available amount (article 14.3 of the order). The Asociación de Enxeñería sen Fronteiras Galicia (file number PR803E-2026-00000010-00), grouped with Amigas da Terra, was excluded for not meeting the requirement of article 4.1.c) of the call for applications order.

Appeals and claims channels

The resolution issued by the general director ends the administrative channel. Against it, an optional appeal for reconsideration may be lodged with the same body within one month from its publication in the DOG. An administrative contentious appeal may also be filed with the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia within two months.
