Xunta: 1.14 million for the dining halls of social initiative nursery schools
Por FactBox Admin

The Department of Social Policy and Equality announces financial aid intended to compensate for the costs of the dining service in 0-3 infant schools managed by private social initiative entities during the 2026/27 academic year, with a total budget of 1,137,274.71 euros. The call is regulated by the Order of October 29, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 213, corresponding to Friday, November 6, 2026, with procedure code BS420F. The same bulletin issue contains the summary of the call, with BDNS number 939494.
Framework: PAN program and social services
The regulation supports its competence in the Statute of Autonomy of Galicia (article 27.23, social assistance) and develops the provisions of Law 13/2008, of December 3, on social services of Galicia, Law 3/2011, of June 30, on family support and coexistence of Galicia, and Decree 329/2005, of July 28, which regulates juvenile centers and childhood care centers and admits the dining hall as a complementary service for 0-3 infant schools.
The call is part of the Birth Support Program (PAN) of the Xunta de Galicia, structured into grants, services, and reconciliation resources. Processing will be on a non-competitive basis, under article 19.2 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies of Galicia, and has been granted by delegation in favor of the head of the General Directorate for Family, Childhood, and Demographic Dynamization.
Budget and distribution by annuality
The credit will be charged to budget application 08.02.312B.481.3, project code 2025 00053, with the following breakdown:
- Year 2026: 413,554.44 euros.
- Year 2027: 723,720.27 euros.
- Total: 1,137,274.71 euros.
The amount may be increased when the increase derives from the generation, extension, or incorporation of credit, from remnants of other calls of the same program, or from a credit transfer, without this opening a new application period.
Amount of aid and eligible period
The compensation is equivalent to the amount that families would stop paying in infant schools of the regional public sector, according to their price regime, plus 25.95 euros per month for each boy or girl using the dining service.
- A maximum of 11 months is subsidized, between September 1, 2026, and July 31, 2027.
- The use of the dining hall for individual days is not eligible for subsidy.
- Only boys and girls using the educational care of the 0-3 infant school may use the service.
- The aid is compatible with other subsidies for the same purpose, provided it never exceeds the cost of the activity.
Requirements for entities and application deadline
Private social initiative entities that own one or more 0-3 infant schools operating in Galicia that meet these requirements may apply:
- Be registered in the Single Registry of Social Service Provider Entities (RUEPSS), according to Decree 254/2011, of December 23.
- Possess the activity commencement permit for the nursery school service.
- Provide proof of the childhood vaccination calendar of the Galician Vaccination Program and the residency of the students in Galicia.
- Apply a pricing regime equivalent to that of Decree 49/2012, of January 19, for public 0-3 nursery schools.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Xunta de Galicia headquarters (https://sede.xunta.gal), with the nominal list of students completed in the Escinf application. The period will open at 8:00 AM on the sixth business day following the publication of the order and will close at 11:59 PM on the day that marks one month since the opening.
Advance payments and justification
The instruction corresponds to the sub-directorate with competencies in demography and reconciliation, and the resolution to the General Directorate of Family, Childhood and Demographic Dynamization, with a maximum period of one month from the entry of the application into the registry and, in any case, within the 2026 budgetary year.
- In 2026, an advance of 100% of the annual amount will be released once the granting resolutions have been issued.
- In 2027, an advance of up to 90% will be released, with the remainder subject to the justification of the occupied places.
- Advances are exempt from providing guarantees.
- The justifying documentation must be submitted by the deadline of July 31, 2027.
Failure to provide justification or fulfill dissemination obligations may lead to total or partial repayments, ranging between 2% and 80% of the aid received depending on the case, in addition to the return of 10% when the publicity of the aid is not complied with.
The complete order also sets the maximum prices for other services: 110.00 euros per course for materials, 35.00 euros per month for kitchen — incompatible with charging for the dining room — and complementary activities of a voluntary nature limited to swimming and foreign language.
The call directly affects the families using these nursery schools, in many cases vulnerable, who were already receiving a dining room discount, and the entities that manage the centers, which must prove prices comparable to those of the public sector to access financing. The one-month deadline and exclusively electronic processing concentrate the administrative burden of the interested entities in the coming days.
