Cameroon and WFP Exchange Notes for 200 Million Yen Food Assistance

The Government of Japan has conducted an exchange of notes with the World Food Programme (WFP) for 200 million yen to provide food assistance to socially vulnerable people within the Republic of Cameroon. This decision was promulgated in the Official Gazette dated September 9, 2026, as Ministry of Foreign Affairs Notice No. 280.

The exchange of notes took place on August 12, 2026, in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Promulgated in the name of Minister for Foreign Affairs Toshimitsu Motegi, it aims to purchase the products and services necessary to implement food assistance carried out in relation to food assistance regulations.

This assistance is implemented in accordance with the international food assistance framework based on food assistance regulations. It targets socially vulnerable people within Cameroon and will be allocated to the purchase of products and the procurement of services necessary for food assistance.
