Walqa expands its hydrogen compression and supply for vehicles

The Huesca City Council has opened for public review the file for the modification of hydrogen production activity at the Walqa Technology Park, incorporating a new compression line and a dispenser for vehicle supply. The request, submitted by the Aragón New Hydrogen Technologies Development Foundation, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 161, dated August 25, 2026, with reference BOPH-2026-161009.

For 15 calendar days, starting from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the gazette, those who consider themselves affected may submit claims or observations to the City Council Secretariat. The announcement is signed by Iván Rodríguez Martínez, Deputy Mayor delegated for Urban Planning, dated August 24, 2026.

One step further in hydrogen mobility

This action is part of the Huesca technology park’s commitment to consolidating itself as a benchmark in the production and use of hydrogen. The modification of the activity will allow for the expansion of the compression capacity of the generated hydrogen and the establishment of a supply point for vehicles, reinforcing the refueling infrastructure in the province.

The procedure is processed in accordance with Article 77 of Law 11/2014, of December 4, on Environmental Prevention and Protection of Aragón, which regulates the environmental license for classified activities.
