Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Villarta de los Montes has definitively approved the Municipal Action Plan against the risk of forest fires (PAMIF), a key instrument for the prevention of and response to fires in a high-risk rural area. The decision was adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation in an ordinary session held on August 13, 2026, following a favorable report from the Permanent Commission for Civil Protection of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz, number 159, of August 20, 2026, via announcement 3297/2026.
Regulatory Framework
The approval is processed in accordance with Decree 32/2023, of April 5, which regulates the Registry of Civil Protection Plans of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura and the structure, minimum content, approval regime, maintenance, and implementation of these planning instruments. Article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, which regulates the publication of administrative acts, is also applied.
Once approved, the registration of the plan in the Regional Registry of Civil Protection Plans of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura will be promoted, integrating it as an annex to the Territorial Civil Protection Plan of Extremadura (PLATERCAEX).
Consultation and Appeals
The file and the full text of the plan will be available to interested parties at the municipal offices of the City Council of Villarta de los Montes. The document may also be consulted on the entity’s electronic office at the address https://sede.villartadelosmontes.es.
Against the agreement, which concludes the administrative process, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, based in Cáceres, within a period of two months from the day following the publication of the announcement, pursuant to articles 10 and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, Regulating Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction. Interested parties may also exercise any other appeal they deem appropriate.
The agreement appears digitally signed by the Mayor-President, Antonio Miguel Sánchez.
Relevance for the Municipality
The approval of the PAMIF provides Villarta de los Montes with its own framework for prevention and action against forest fires, in a rural municipality of the province of Badajoz exposed to high risk. Its integration into PLATERCAEX ensures coordination with the rest of the region’s civil protection plans, reinforcing the emergency response capacity and the safety of the population and the natural environment.
