Villarcayo hires a sports center janitor as a permanent employee

The Mayor’s Office-Presidency of the City Council of Villarcayo de Merindad de Castilla la Vieja has ordered the hiring of Carlos Bustamante García-Villanueva (ID *4098) as permanent contractual staff for the position of sports center janitor, after having passed the temporary employment stabilization process and accredited the requirements of the guidelines. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, number 170, dated September 8, 2026, with reference BOPBUR-2026-03709 (pages 26 and 27).

A stabilization process supported by Law 20/2021

The hiring is part of the public employment offer approved by Mayoral Decree 2022-0240, dated May 12, 2022, for the stabilization of temporary employment based on Law 20/2021, of December 28. The file is based on the report from the Human Resources department technician dated July 23, 2026, and the proposed resolution Pr/2026/1531, dated July 29, 2026, which received a favorable audit on August 21, 2026.

The resolution authorizes and commits the expenditure, and notifies the Audit and Accounting departments for the recognition of the payment obligation and the availability of credit.

Formalization period and applicant pool

The selected applicant must formalize their contract within a maximum period of one month from the notification of the resolution; anyone who fails to do so without justified cause shall forfeit all acquired rights. Those already providing services to the city council and who are hired for the same position will maintain their consolidated remuneration rights.

The resolution also constitutes the official pool for the sports center janitor position (competitive examination), with the final merit scoring in order of precedence:

• José Antonio López López — 81.51 points
• Ernesto Revuelta García — 72.86 points

Publication and effects

The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos and on the city council’s electronic headquarters (notice board), producing the same effects as notification in accordance with Article 45 of Law 39/2015. The signature belongs to the mayor-president, Adrián Serna del Pozo, dated August 26, 2026.

The consolidation of this position as permanent contractual staff represents another step in the reduction of temporary municipal public employment, and the resulting pool guarantees an ordered list of candidates for future coverage of the sports center janitor position.
